DSCC Unsure Whether They Want to Invest in McAdams Campaign - Lets Raise the Money Ourselves
Alaska — Ten days ago, Scott McAdams had a volunteer treasurer and a few thousand dollars to help him pursue the Democratic nomination for U.S. senator in Alaska. With the shocking upset victory by tea party darling Joe Miller over U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski for the Republican nomination, volunteers and money are flowing his way....

The Democratic Senatorial Candidate Committee is polling in Alaska to find out if their money would be well-spent backing McAdams, the mayor of Sitka. Wednesday evening, McAdams was listed among the top fundraisers on ActBlue.com, which helps Democrats set up fundraising campaigns for candidates, with $76,117 in donations. McAdams expects his campaign to have collected $100,000 by end of the week as Alaskans pitch in to help him defeat the Republican endorsed by former Gov. Sarah Palin....

Democratic Senatorial Candidate Committee spokesman Deirdre Murphy said Miller wants to end Social Security and Medicare, joining other "right-wing insurgents" dangerously outside the mainstream of their states. She would not comment on whether the committee plans to help McAdams financially. McAdams said he has not heard from the group.

McAdams is approaching $80,000 on ActBlue having only raised 9,000 a week ago tonight. Lets get him into triple digits and make the national party take notice.

1. It's us against the t-partiers in Alaska?

Both Palin and the tea party, namely the Tea Party Express PAC, were instrumental in Miller's fundraising — especially since he suffered from a major cash disadvantage against Murkowski in the primary. The Tea Party Express PAC — whose full name is Our Country Deserves Better — spent close to $600,000 on the race, according to reports.

If the DSCC isn't there for this race, what are they there for?

6. He's probably not a
DLCer and therefore might be a dangerous progressive.

7. The DLC won't like what he said on Rachel Maddow
about Alaskans being sick of being "outsourced, offshored, free-traded and deregulated to death"

10. Heard that
I might send in a few bucks now that the party isn't helping him. He has a chance, we could take that seat.

in the Arkansas primary over Bill Halter. She's now losing by 30 in polls to the Republican.

It's Sen. Bob Menendez at the DSCC. Chris Van Hollen runs the House counterpart, the DCCC. Although, many of their decisions in past cycles have been equally perplexing.

9. Par For The Course
In 2006 Rahm was particularly adept at picking losers over progressive dems who had a real shot, to the point of shoving them out.
