For what it is here's a Charlie Crist Poll of FL Senate
FrederickPolls LLC for Charlie Crist
8/28-31/10; 500 likely voters, 4.4% margin of error
Mode Live telephone interviews
(Buzz Florida Politics post)

Florida

2010 Senate
35% Crist (i), 34% Rubio (R), 17% Meek (D) (chart)

I say for what it's worth is that I don't usually trust candidate financed polls.

1. Charlie has a tough job
He's pissed off most of the GOP down here. He wants to make a run by trying to pick up moderates and democrats. The problem is, the further left he moves, the more GOP leaning folks he loses, and all he does is weaken Meek. If he moves right, it isn't clear he'll pick up all that many pub's. He has to run against BOTH Meek AND Rubio. Meek has no need to run against Rubio, he needs Crist and Rubio to fight each other. So Meek will try to push him right. Rubio isn't going to get anyone from Meek, so he'll go after Crist, and will try to move him left. I don't really know what Crist can do to actually win.

Some are already declaring him dead

2. That's assuming most people won't declare Meek dead,
which most people already have. In which case all Crist has to do is veer just far enough left to finish the job and eliminate Meek altogether from the minds of people who don't want to waste their vote and see Rubio win, which is a lot of people.

3. 'Taint gonna happen
The AFL-CIO is behind him, and I can't tell ya the number of liberals that are basically saying,
no way no how. His only hope is moderates, and moving left ain't the way to get them, and moving right is blocked by Rubio, not to mention Charlie's own actions.

4. An internal poll that gets released only showing him up by one?
That can't be good.
