This Cenk post made me laugh out loud

Unilateral Disarmament Has Destroyed the Democrats

by Cenk Uygur

President Obama spent the first two years of his administration practicing political unilateral disarmament. He laid down his arms to reach out to Republicans, and they ripped his arms off and clubbed him over the head with them.

<...>

Now, it's almost too late for this election. Partly because it's hard to make that turn at this late juncture and because this is something you should have been doing all along so it's already in people's heads. But much more importantly, this isn't about how you campaign; this is about how you govern. He needs to govern with an agenda of change -- remember, that's what he originally campaigned on? He needs to implement his agenda, whatever the hell it is.

Let me be specific. The CBO just came out with great numbers on the stimulus package. They said that it created up to 3.3 million jobs and added 1.7 to 4.5% to the GDP in the last quarter alone. How many Democrats have you heard talking about that? I haven't heard any. Why?

Because they're scared of their own shadow. Fox News beat them up on the stimulus package and a poll came out saying people are unsure whether it worked -- and that was enough to send the Democrats scrambling. Hey, you know that you might win on that issue -- if you actually fought!

more

I can't decide which is funnier: the first paragraph or the lame attempt to criticize.

Seriously, let me repeat: "He needs to implement his agenda, whatever the hell it is. Let me be specific. The CBO just came out with great numbers on the stimulus package. They said that it created up to 3.3 million jobs and added 1.7 to 4.5% to the GDP in the last quarter alone. How many Democrats have you heard talking about that? I haven't heard any. Why? Because they're scared of their own shadow..."

So Cenk has no idea what the President's agenda is, but he's upset because he hasn't heard a single Democrat, including the President and Vice President, talking about the success of the stimulus?

4. LOL!!!
He has been hosting MSNBC shows more than TYT lately so you will have to come up with a better way to slam him!

:dunce:

• In the pre-debate ratings battle, Cenk Uygur, filling in for Ed Schultz, had better ratings in both categories than either Chris Matthews hour on MSNBC.

11. Who cares?
I like the guy overall. But he's been known to exaggerate and over simplify the truth to fit his agenda. As for his hosting and ratings---there is no accounting to taste.

5. I haven't heard it being touted, either.
But then, maybe it's because I'm in OK, and there's a filter at the border.

7. I dont get what you are saying
Whats the problem? Obama has been terrible at laying out what his agenda is and fighting for it. The fact that he passed a stimulus bill which Cenk gives him a lot of credit for, doesn't mean that he has offered a comprehensive plan of action and taken a stand on certain key elements of pieces of legislation. His agenda seems to be to acknowledge that problems exist within certain industries and then let lobbyists and republicans destroy any chance of significant reform and then come out at the very end of the process and play up how good it will be. I am not trying to get into Obama-bashing mode but as usual Cenk's criticism is spot on.

12. ((((Hey.... Cenk Uygur! Wake the fuck up!)))))
Perhaps if those who are in the media would talk about the success of the stimulus every now and then, instead of continueously having your foot up Obama's ass, it would help. But no....better to point the finger about how everyone else has not been talking about it....although, you Cenk, ain't said much beyond criticizing the president yourself.

So this may be just be another case of Cenk telling Democrats "Do as I say, and not as I do".......

14. The self-described centrist former Republican Cenk
doesn't represent a liberal viewpoint. He represents the "constantly make poorly reasoned complaints" viewpoint.

If he's upset that the message isn't getting out there maybe he should criticize the corporate press and take it upon himself to spread the word. I love that his proof about Obama not passing his agenda is to point out how much the stimulus bill has accomplished (which is evidence that Obama HAS passed his agenda). I wonder how many of his fans will realize the logical inconsistency.

16. political strategy is not Cenk's strong area
I love Cenk and watch everything he puts on YouTube, but he's criticizing the democrats for not touting the jobs gained by the stimulus? That's contrary to what I've seen, I've seen Obama visit factories and talk plenty about the stimulus jobs.

But the problem is that it hasn't been enough. And people get pissed off when unemployment is really high and then politicians talk about how great their programs have worked. It's a tough spot to be in, I really don't know how they should do the politics, what I want them to change is their policies.
