Don't let the Republicans' cruel and cynical strategy work! ' Tax cuts for fat cats' will not fix the economy and bring back jobs!

The choice is clear: Rebuild America or More Tax Cuts for the Top 1%! (Substitute 'Fat Cats,' if you like!)

3. Understand, but the answer is certainly not to stay home and let the Republicans take back power.
Edited on Fri Sep-03-10 01:08 PM by flpoljunkie
Watch things get worse--much worse--if these bastards take back the reins of power.

4. I have no intention of staying home.
I'm fortunate in that I can comfortably vote for all my candidates, from Feingold to State Assemblywoman Kristen Dexter, without reservations.

But I fear that in many places, the Dem vote will be cast against Republicans rather than for exciting Democrats, and that is a regrettable situation.

21. I'm pissed at both parties.
Neither seems to care about the working class.

I've been very disappointed with President Obama, and have said so here many times. But the teabaggers scare the sh*t out of me.

They are my motivation. The more primaries they win, the more determined I am to see them defeated in November.

18. In most of those districts, the best you're going to get is a Blue Dog Democrat
Sorry, but that's just how it is. A progressive wouldn't stand a chance in any of those in the Southeast.

20. Boy do I KNOW IT!! Living In A Ruby Red County In FL Is SUCH A DOWNER!!
I have NEVER seen a Democrat, "blue dog" or "true blue" get elected as my Representative since I've lived here! And I've lived here a very long time!!

Still wondering how to vote in the Senate race because the bottom line for me is to do ANYTHING to keep RUBIO from winning!! Meek is "blue dog" and seems to the right of Crist sometimes!

I know people (Democrats) who have decided to vote for Crist and some sitting on the fence leaning that way! I'm still waiting a little while longer, but perhaps in the end it may be Crist who gets my vote!

Meek NEEDS to DO SOMETHING right now, because too many of us can't bear the thought of RUBIO!!

5. We are a self defeating lot. Those who've proclaimed that Dems aren't "liberal" enough...
Edited on Fri Sep-03-10 01:59 PM by Tarheel_Dem
are working overtime to make their defeatist language a self fulfilling prophecy. I've just seen a post from a DU'er declaring "I'm staying home this November". Why would you post that here? And a better question is why would that post be allowed to stand? Why not just go the fuck away, and pout in silence?

We've seen these "temper tantrums" before on the left, which is how we wound up in two wars, and on the brink of financial collapse. How quickly some forget.

7. Let's take our anger out on the greedy Republicans, not on fellow Dems--even the damn Blue Dog Dems!
Think about it. Speaker Boehner and Majority Leader McConnell who will work to 'Privatize Social Security' and 'Voucherize Medicare' because it's what their corporate paymasters desire.

Veterans will not be safe, either. Bernie Sanders said today on Thom Hartman that President Obama had done a great deal to help veterans in just years--in sharp contrast to how the Bush administration treated veterans.

9. It is Barack Obama and the Dem leadership who must give Dems a reason to vote.
That is the first step if they are to retain control of Congress.

10. Frankly, people are disgusted with both parties.
I wish that we had a viable third party in this country. The two party system has become incestuous and corrupt. They are different sides of the same coin.

12. I feel your frustration, but the R's are a wholly owned subsidiary of corporate America.
We must not let them get back in power. We must take our anger out on them and what they will do if they get power in power. Their aim is to privatize Social Security and voucherize Medicare and do everything their corporate paymasters--Wall Street, big banks, big energy--desire!

We may feel we have not gotten all the change we voted for, but if we elect Republicans, we will definitely get change we do not want and it will be a disaster on many levels.

13. That may be so, but people are just not buying it.
They gave Democrats a chance and things are pretty bad. The average person doesn't care that it was mainly Bush and his administration's fault. They want results and they are not seeing them. It may not be fair, but Democrats control the WH and Congress. Therefore, who do you think that people are going to punish in November?

14. Voters are angry and they will punish the party in power unless Dems make their case, and quickly!
Edited on Fri Sep-03-10 06:26 PM by flpoljunkie
The president must give Democrats a reason to turn out and vote in November. He will start making the case next week. I hope he can help stiffen the wavering Dem spines to make the case for tax cuts for the middle class and use the money from the top 2% to put Americans back to work.

John Yarmuth, D-KY, said his brother was in the top 2% and that he said he would gladly pay the old Clinton tax rate (on earnings above $250K) so that folks could have jobs and the money to buy his barbecue! Yarmouth was on Tweety and he was great! We need more Dems like him.

17. You are actually suggesting that Liberals vote for Democrats? OMG, dude!
Some people here can not accept that - I suppose it's to simple for their complex minds.

Thanks for the post - I hope every Democrat votes in November - for Democrats.

Any Dem who sits this out is a fool.

22. This year is a choice between mediocrity and insanity.
I'll take mediocrity, but I'm ashamed of the democratic party and the administration for their utter wimpiness.

So this election is a choice is vote for the pussy or you vote for the psycho.
I'll be voting for the pussy and hoping that he or she will eventually grow a spine someday.
