Poll question: Where does the fault lie?
Rising health care prices.
A deepening recession.
Endless wars.
Failing public schools.
Millions unemployed.

6. The problem is clearly systemic,
along with the White House and Congress' dogged determination to pursue the failed neoliberal policies of the past, i.e privatization of the public sector, oil wars, etc.

24. I don't think they're even in the same stratosphere as the real powers that be.
They're elite, yes, they think they're the ones, but they really don't hold the power they think they do.

Can't it be say, 80% someone's fault and 20% someone else's fault?

11. Amazing that I was the first person to blame the Bush administration
but that several apparently think Obama is to blame instead of Bush.

Do the people voting that way have the courage to defend their choice?

18. The systemic rot of our democracy and economy began well before Bush and Obama.
Bush, via his tax breaks for the rich, oil wars, and crony capitalism, accelerated policies that have been present in American politics for the last 50 years, at least.

I want a break with the past, don't you?

than sitting with their children and asking them to think while they turn off the TV or asking questions when leaders want to go to war.

22. conservatives: they support rising insurance rates and legal captivity to the insurers, fear the WPA
love war, and hate public education regardless of party (though if it's one particular party they'll shriek that they're "going forward" "against an insurmountable GOP legacy," which is pure blackwhite)

25. Corrupt
government officials and large business. About six large corporate special interests own our government.

As long as that is the case you're going to have those interests before that of the overwhelming majority of the population.
