Everyone from RWers to comedians talk about Obama's "vast" number of vacations, yet...

"Obama’s vacation days: Fewer than Bush took"

The Republican National Committee has taken to calling Obama “the Clark Griswold president,” a mocking reference to the Chevy Chase character in National Lampoon’s “Vacation” movies. With unemployment claims climbing again, the GOP was hoping its criticism would have a certain national resonance. And maybe it will.

One potential complication: Obama has spent far less time on vacation than his Republican predecessor, George W. Bush, had at this point in his presidency.

Veteran CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller, a fastidious keeper of presidential statistics, has kept count. By his tally, Obama has embarked on nine “vacations” since taking office, bringing his total days off to 48. Some of those trips lasted a day and some, like his Christmas holiday in Hawaii, more than a week.

By comparison, Bush had visited his ranch in Crawford, Tex., 14 times at this point in his administration and spent 115 days there. And yes, Democrats let him have it, too, complaining that he was a chronic vacationer.

Dave Letterman tells jokes about Obama being on vacation nightly. He made 3 jokes about it Thursday night alone. Jon Stewart has mentioned Obama's vacations several times, too.

1. It has been 84 weeks since he took office. Or 593 days.
19.39% for Bush (16.4 weeks)

08.09% for Obama (6.86 weeks)

How much time has Letterman or Stewart had off for vacation?

3. Exactly...

but you wouldn't know it from the false narrative created by the RWers and picked up by the comedians.

Letterman is off every Friday (and last week as well as others) and Stewart was off this past week after being off for two weeks just a month or so ago. It's sad how they're picking up the narrative and running with it.

5. Letterman Jets to Montana
all the time in his private plane - his carbon footprint is gigantic.

No late-night talk show host takes more time off than Letterman. He's been a real dick lately and that conversation with Donald Trump - ugh!

6. True...

and I agree on Letterman's converstation/interview with Trump. Trump claimed that we're in a double-dip recession right now (and later kind of said we COULD go into a double-dip recession). But Letterman DID disagree with Trump on the Islamic Center in NY.

2. Truth has no merit in this country anymore. And since on one
is having pretending to have Obama's back - then this country will get exactly what it deserve in 2010 and 2012.

4. It's as if comedians are looking to get someone they can REALLY make fun of...
in a TRUTHFUL way.
