I've got as many problems with the administration as anybody...but I damn well WILL vote |
|
And I will work for Democratic victory in November!
At heart, the country IS with us, and we can win(and show the administration that the country is progressive and not "centrist")with concerted and intense effort in the next two months.
Feet need to be held to the fire...but we need to make sure its OUR fire they're being held to!
Stay in the game, and stay angry!
We've got a lot to fight for this fall.

We'd be sick and more disappointed if republicans win.

9. I don't get it. Most here are going to vote |
|
People sometimes forget DU is a discussion board. Folks let off steam. But I would worry far more about the average voter than folks here who are generally engaged.

10. Yes indeed. The Dems need us. I'm certainly going to be there for Barbara Boxer!!! |
|
We need EVERYBODY voting. Disgusted, depressed, disillusioned, disappointed, dispirited OR NOT. I don't care. Regardless how bad and how wimpy our Dems have been, just imagine the alternative!

12. I don't think anybody on DU will skip the vote. We know the stakes. |
|
It's the independents and the apolitical who will either vote for "the other guy" because of disappoiuntment or dissatisfaction or not vote at all. I get exasperated w/ Obama's efforts at centrism when people want and need all out war on unemployment, on corporate control of everything including the voting system, on the gradual suffocation of the democracy under a blanket of money and corruption and greed and disregard or downright hate for one's fellow man.
That's the reason I and others on DU are wanting Obama to act more forthrightly, not because we dislike the guy or have any affection whatever for the other party, which has proven itself time and again to be a complete tool of the moneyed interests.
