According to most polls, Democrats and Republicans are tied on the registered vote generic ballot. It is the likely voter pool that shifts the advantage to the Republicans. The undecided pool consists of many Democratic voters who can and must be brought home to vote in November.

We need a massive Democratic mobilization effort starting now. We can decisively close the likely voter gap.

2. He's right. There are more registered Democrats than there are Republicans. If people simply voted..
Democrats could even *GAIN* seats in both houses.

The problem with Democrats--especially those on DU sometimes--is that we seem to sit around and complain, feeling defeated, instead of working hard to get the vote out.

The Righties never just sit back. It's always about politics. Always! Full steam ahead. That's why they win.

We need to get off our duffs and work, work, work!!!

5. Damn right!
Sitting home and not voting is what the right wants, getting out the voters is what has to be done, and I think the president knows that, and started doing just that yesterday!

6. While calling voters for OFA/IA Dem Party, I've had multiple people say they only vote in
Presidential elections or just hadn't even thought about whether or not to vote in November.

People need to help with the GOTV effort - starting NOW!

7. That is the TRUTH - if we lose, we gave it away.
WE must support Democrats and vote for Democrats in November - the republican crazys runing for office this time are much worse than any we have seen yet - they make those now in congress look moderate!

8. Your not going to get Democrats out to vote until the Dems in Congress actually do something
So far, on the big issues, Dems have failed miserably. They have yet to give Dems and liberals a reason to vote for them this fall. Rather, what the party machinery is attempting is the same old shit that's been done before, using fear to gin up the vote rather than earning people's respect and gratitude.

People are becoming immune to fear, especially on the left. Therefore if the Dems want to win, it is time that they went out and earned it.

13. Really?
You have search capability. Bring up one, just one issue in which I stated I would support the Republican position on it. Otherwise admit that you're simply making up shit because you don't like those of us on the left who dare to criticize Obama and the Dems for the position they are taking and you're simply out to smear people because of that.

C'mon tough guy, just one. We'll all be waiting.

14. While you're waiting for them to "earn" it, the Repubs will gladly
take back the reins of power.

It's going to come down to that.

Sometimes "We're not the Republicans" IS the choice. And as unhinged as some of these Repubs are lately, the choice is clear.

If you think that defaulting these Dems out of office with non-votes and replacing them with angry Republicans is going to help your causes advance, then I don't know what to say to you.

15. Then I suggest that the Dems get busy in the next couple of months
More and more people are refusing to succumb to fear based campaigns and want politicians to actually earn their vote. If the Dems come through with some major issue that directly and quickly improves people's lives, then they won't have to worry about this fall, it will be in the bag. If they continue to rely on trying to scare people into voting for them, well, they will probably fail.

Respect and gratitude is what earns and keeps voters with a party, not fear.

17. Hacked voting machines perhaps?
It happened in several key states in two separate elections - 2000 and 2004. A little vote tweaking and Jr. was given the keys to the country when he didn't earn them...twice.

As someone on Thom Hartmann pointed out, it started then. If we don't keep working and voting for change we've ourselves to blame if it doesn't happen.

23. Wrong. It's cause they gave us shitty Dems like Blanche Lincoln we didn't want to vote for
You know, the one Obama went and campaigned for against the progressive. That and their lack of action on gay rights, escalating a war, ignoring war crimes, etc.

I WANT to vote for the Dems. But even more so, I want them to give us something to vote FOR, and not just republican boogymen to vote against.
