Chris Coons (D-Delaware) slowly gaining ground

A new Rass poll shows Coons behind by 11 pts. An electoral vote graph shows
how he has slowly been inching up. I think we actually have a shot here. Castle
seems to have peaked, and with the tea party campaigning against him, I think
Coons has momentum.

1. If Mistress Christine beats Castle in the primary
then we have a chance. If not, I think we've lost this one. But it will be close.

Castle has peaked at just under 50%. Coons is still going up. He may have a surge. I'd love to see
Biden make a visit, or two.

4. Delaware is a closed primary
and I'm sure the deadline for party-switching is way past.

Besides, it's more fun to watch the Republicans shoot themselves in the foot without our help.

8. The polls are all over the place with a Coons v. O'Donnell match-up
And I would like to think it would be an easy win for Coons. This girl is stark-raving mad lunatic and she scares the bejesus out of me with her religious ramblings. And in the back of my mind I have this voice that says "What if O'Donnell does win the main election". Those voices almost wants Castle to win because at least if Coons loses I won't have a lunatic representing me.

ANd you have to understand this woman is a lunatic. She is not mentally there 100%. She is a scary woman who has told the same lies over and over again that to her they have become her reality. She runs for office every 2 years state-wide because she feels she is on some mission from God. She feels that it's the world against her trying to bring her down because she owes 10K in taxes and had her house in foreclosure. This woman wants to bring the bible into our government and make it the law of the land. She is frightening. And honestly, I see other states with their tea party nut jobs winning the primaries and think 'Thank God it's not me' but the reality is - it could be me and I'm paranoid as hell. There are alot of dumbasses in this state - especially south of the canal.

But happiness is this - I do see Chris Coon signs all over my neighborhood. So there is hope!

6. I keep hoping the best with Christine O'Donnell winning...

because there are some polls out there that shows it would be a 10 point win for Coons.

But I am worried that with the mid-term elections favoring republicans that if she does beat Castle that there is a chance she could be my next senator. And honestly, if Chris Coons loses I would rather be stuck with Castle, who at least is a decent guy and a bit on the moderate side, than this raving lunatic O'Donnell.

we need to get new politicians in and don't want either Castle or Coons. They think Christine is the one. Hubby is still registered repub to vote in the primaries. He said he just cannot pull the lever for her in the primary since she's got so many screws loose. In the actual election, he's voting for Coons.

I didn't like the headline in today's News Journal. Big blasted article about how O'donnell is calling out Castle for paying his taxes late. Did I miss the article in our local paper about her just finally graduating? I did see the column where it said she was having her security detail check her bushes because her opponents were following her home.

10. I'm wondering if they will have a running story on the Oct 2nd rally in DC
You know how News Journal is with the 3 headlines on the home page. And on the day of the rally one of them was an allday report of Tweets from the GlenBeckkkapoolza. I was livid! Where were these types of stories when we protested the war or the RNC convention? Where was it when a million of us showed up for March for Choice. But yet 80K people including one with a DE flag can go to that racist event in DC and News Journal will give them a headline story.

O'Donnell scares me. Not because I see her a possibily winning but I see her as a very scary, mentally unstable woman who should never ever hold an elected office. Any leeway we give her in the election puts her even closer to a position where her religious nutbaggary could be the type of laws she would make in congress.

You know I felt sorry for other states that had nutjobs for their elected officials because I always thought I was safe in Delaware where even our republicans were sane (ie - Mike Castle). Never thought it could remotely happen to us.

BTW only other candidate to show up to an O'Donnell rally - Mike Protak. He's about as loopy as O'Donnell is when it comes to idiots that run for office that probably shouldn't.

11. O'Donnell will never win the general

She'll only help with the anti-tea party candidates ads. This would help in several states.

7. As the chillier mornings return to Delaware, I bet that
over hot cups of coffee voters will see that Coons is their better choice for the long haul.

It would be terrific if Castle and nutbag Christine beat each other up so bad in the primary that neither was left with anything defendable for the general.
