GOP meme shot down: Dow +28 (and dropping) when Obama started talking... +51 (and climbing now)

They always say that every time the President speaks, the Dow takes a hit.

Not today.

YES.... I know that there is little correlation between the movements of the market and any single event.

My point is that every Republican I know always says that the markets always react negatively to Obama.

When I point out the following:

Dow when Bush took office: 10545. Dow when he left: 7926.

They usually shut up.

The Dow PLUMMETED every time Bush spoke when the market was open--a DU-er named it "The Piehole Effect!"

2. They must have been talking about the last guy.
Every time I can remember, when Junior spoke the market did a nose dive.

5. The market did always tank when Idiot Son spoke.
I think Obama and Biden both need to hit the campaign trail, if they can't get the message across for the Dems, no one can. And it would seem Obama's recent speeches have been working.

7. Good reminder. Thanks for the facts. Bookmarking to show my OFA group.
We've been GOTVing for months sporadically but this week, it starts in earnest.

Information like this is extremely helpful when canvassing.

Keep it up!

11. DOW & Obama are not related
DOW reached 15,500 during Bush.
Maximum DOW during Obama was 11,000
Currently 10,000.

There is no correlation.
