Well, lookie here. Today, John Boehner basically conceded that the Republicans are on the losing side of the tax argument debate, and will likely vote to extend the middle class tax cuts without including the tax cuts for the rich he previously demanded be included.

Boehner says he'd support a middle-class tax cut

*****House Minority Leader John Boehner says he would vote for President Obama's plan to extend tax cuts only for middle-class earners, not the wealthy, if that were the only option available to House Republicans.

Boehner, R-Ohio, said it is "bad policy" to exclude the highest-earning Americans from tax relief during the recession, and later Sunday he accused the White House of "class warfare." But he said he wouldn't block the breaks for middle-income individuals and families if Democrats won't support the full package.

Want some cheese with that whine Representative Boehner?

1. It's catch 22 for them
How do they argue against tax cuts for the majority of the tax payer while arguing for them for the wealthiest among themselves.

4. I'm with you on that!
You can't win them all, and you could go bust real fast, trying to fight them all! So let's give Obama credit for knowing WHICH to fight, and WHEN to fight them.

5. Tax cuts for rich people is a losing issue.
It is nowhere near as divisive as health care reform and Republicans know that.

9. Agreed. It's a lot harder to frame.
What are you going to say? "Some day you might be a gazillionaire and THEN your ass will be sorry!"?

7. Pres Obama is on the right side of this issue, however, I'm not
convinced the ConservaClowns like Max Baucus, Kent Conrad, Ben Nelson, Evan Bayh, Blanche Lincoln, Droopy Dawg Lieberman, etc. are on the right side of this. It'd be a damn shame for Voinivich to break the filibuster only to find there aren't enough votes to keep the middle class tax cuts and discard the upper crust tax cuts.

10. someone needs to point out that these Conservatives support the very rich having tax cuts
I don't think the message has got through to the Republican voters?

8. Boner read the same polls we're reading.
The public is something like 63% against extending tax cuts for the wealthy.

11. Obama had a good week.
He came out swinging on Labor Day and finished on a high note. I'm glad he'll be doing a lot of traveling this fall to campaign for candidates in tough races. He is very good at shaping the debate and forcing the other side to defend an untenable position — and sometimes they even back down.

12. Boehner want s tax cuts for the wealthy because he, and his friends...
fall into that category.

He expects everything to be handed to him, as we genuflect at his feet, thanking him for allowing the Middle Class to pay for everything.

I would not trust the Orange Dude as far as I could throw him...he, like the other neo-cons are pigs. Could you imagine if the incredible happened and the people of his District actually voted him out...

13. I agree that when we fight we win, but...
I don't think we are winning anything here. Boehner gets to look like the good cop to McConnel's bad cop. The Senate is where the real fight is needed anyway. We need to fight a lot harder, perhaps even dirtier to get good policy through. I remain hopeful that the administration and decent dems are going to do just that, but I can't help the nagging feeling that we are going to see an extension of the whole Bush tax package attached to a US-based jobs creation (read stimulus directed at US investment or trickle down style) bill coming soon.
