GOP cautiously confident for Castle
I hope they are just whistling thru the grave yard:

WILMINGTON, Del. — Top Delaware Republicans are cautiously confident that Rep. Mike Castle will beat back the hard-charging GOP Senate primary challenge of Christine O'Donnell Tuesday night, despite a public poll that has unsettled nerves among the establishment.

Republican National Committeewoman Priscilla Rakestraw, who has been working the phones on Castle’s behalf, and who spoke to 300 potential voters at the Academy of Life-Long Learning Thursday, said she believed O'Donnell's momentum has sputtered over the past few days due to the heightened scrutiny surrounding her record.

"The phones this afternoon and tonight, were totally different. People were much more willing to talk and much more forthcoming. Democrats were even asking how they could help, and I told them to call their Republican friends," Rakestraw said late Monday, predicting an 8-point victory for Castle. "The mood seems different

GOP operative and Castle supporter Don Mell said Castle's margin would vary depending on the size of the turnout, particularly in population-heavy New Castle County.

He projected that if turnout draws 30 percent of the state's 180,000 registered Republicans, the former two-term governor and nine-term congressman would win by 8 to 12 percentage points. If turnout just breaks 20 percent, he believes Castle's margin will shrink to 4 to 6 points, but said he would survive.

1. The GOP establishiment is in a panic, and rightly so.
This line is especially funny:

"...Democrats were even asking how they could help, and I told them to call their Republican friends..."

This is one of those times when best to just stand back and let one's adversaries tear each other apart.

I love the sound of Republican desperation.

3. This is only them trying to put a positive face on it
Trailing by 3 points in a poll just a couple of days before the vote isn't ever a good sign for an candidate. I think he's done.

5. Wish Delaware wasn't a Closed Primary
It'd be fun to pull a Limbaugh and have Dems "Freeper" the voting booth to get Christine "I'm-Gonna-Outlaw-Masturbation" O'Donnell elected for the Teapublican Party.

After O'Donnell has outlawed masturbation, only outlaws will be able to masturbate.

So I'm going to borrown from Charlton Heston "Not Until You Pry It From My Cold, Dead Hands"
