All of this spewing about Democrats having a problem getting our voters to the polls? |
|
What exactly is this based on? Wolf Blitzer just made that statment on CNN
We have not had an internal war like the Republicans that has had them juiced.
So why all the pronouncements of "problems" turning out Democratic voters?

3. Part of the official narrative |
|
Dems are demoralized, there's a huge anti-incumbent fever taking over, and repubs are expected to gain mightily in November.
All of which serves one purpose: to make the inevitable Dem victory in November appear illegitimate, even fraudulent.

14. Yes, it's the "voter enthusiasm" B.S. |
|
The "pollsters" are trying to equate voter enthusiasm with turnout for the primaries, which is total crap. Here in Arizona many of the Democratic candidates were unchallenged. I still voted in the primary, but I know many Democrats who did not, but they FOR SURE will be voting in the General Election. You can take that to the bank.

18. Lucky for us, an "enthusiastic" vote doesn't count any more than a regular vote. |
|
The only poll that matters is on Nov.2. Voter enthusiasm needs to peak in the last days leading up to that date. Enthusiasm now is pretty much meaningless.
I do believe the media loves a horse race, and we will see things magically tighten up in the last days, in order to enhance the television drama.

9. Tweety's theme today is that the GOTP has the 'juice!' But, do the Dems? |
|
GOTP=Grand Old Tea Party
We shall indeed, soon see if the Dems have the 'juice.' I am betting we have 'juice enough!'

11. You guys watch too much TV. Here in Suffolk County NY... |
|
We had about 289,000 Democrats vote in the primary and 301,000 Republicans, which is maybe a slightly higher turnout for Republicans, but they had more to vote for-- there were few, if any, local primaries and we had only the AG primary while the Republicans had two Senate, one Governor, and a number of House primaries.
I don't have registration totals handy, but from the districts I know of, this looks like around a 20% turnout on all sides-- pretty good for a primary.
Youlda thunk even more Republicans would have shown up with those stakes. Even adding the 3,000 Conservative party votes to the Republican totals doesn't change much.
(Absentee ballots are not included, since they have until next week to show up.)

16. Here in Suffolk the rethugs didn't put a primary challenger on the ballot .......... |
|
Randy whateverhisnameis is going to run against Bishop. The upside is that Bishop didn't have a primary challenger either, so things have yet to turn ugly and he has a nice tidy sum in his war chest.

|
didn't get primaried, but so what? That's good news. Yeah, he probably will take it again, even though the teabaggers are out for blood this time.
(Was I ever pissed when I saw Goode in a Senate primary. Even more pissed and disturbed when I saw she got 20% of the vote. Gillenbrand's gotta get the message out.)

12. This is to prepare the public's mind for the possible huge success |
|
of the Repubs at fixing and otherwise manipulating the voting machines so as to twist the results to fit the results they wish for.
Everything depends on how successful they will be at rigging the elections. If they are successful, then the usual gang of pundits will jump on this explanation for why the results on the electronic voting machines seem to contradict the results of the pre-election polls and/or the exit polls and/or the paper ballots (absentee, etc.) counted at the same time.
Business as usual.
