5. He gets excited.
But you have to factor that in with Matthews.

Overall, however, Matthews is smart and has a good knowledge of U.S. political history (he made Chuck Todd earlier in today's program look like a'toddler'-pun intended).

I know it is popular to bash Tweety around here, but he is a Kennedy Democrat and I think most of the time he offers pretty good analysis.

13. He started his slide to conservative when
he applied or wanted the job of press agent in the Clinton administration and he didn't get it. Ever since then he has slammed, bummed and slurred and flamed both Clintons and the Democrats most of the time.

14. I Never Under Estimate Him... And Many Here Would Do Well NOT To
just call him names! He worked for Tip O'Neill way back when and whether he says he's an Independent or not, I've always known him to be a Democrat!

In case you haven't noticed, there have been times when he says "our side" (slip of the tongue) when talking to Repukes about Democratic issues!

That's a heads up to NOT take these whack jobs too lightly! They got this far... just think about it for a little while! These people may be upsetting both Parties, but that's the rub... THEY'RE UPSETTING THE APPLE CART nonetheless!!

35. "Our side" might not be a slip of the tongue. He might have been
referring to "our liberal side."

36. Well, If He IS Talking About "Our Liberal Side" Then I'm Very Comfortable
with that, considering I feel I'm to the "left" of Obama and many more Democrats in Congress! I'm a Wellstone Democrat and miss him terribly!!

I've become increasingly despondent by so many DLC/DINO types we have these days, but if one listens to MSM, THEY SAY the LEFT is almost DEAD! That does not keep me from believing in the principles of WHY I became a Democrat in the first place so long ago!

We ONCE were a Party "OF THE PEOPLE!" Today, not so much!

JMHO!

37. I also am an admirer of Wellstone's. I still wonder if it was an
accident, or was he deliberately done away with. Things would probably
have been quite different politically, had he lived.

6. According to Electoralvote.com she got 30,000 votes yesterday.
Electoralvote.com
By way of comparison, the last midterm Senate election in Delaware was in 2002 when 230,000 people showed up to vote, 135,000 of them voting for Democrat Joe Biden.

If that site is accurate, then she will have an enormous uphill battle to defeat Chris Coons. That is a long way from a 4 million vote advantage.

11. Chris is good with the past, but the present is a bit much for him
He says many really outlandish things. He really does not know what he's looking at much of the time. And he tends to hyperbole, and that is reflected by his viewers, who mention numbers like 4 million about a woman who got 30,000 votes, and such like. 4 million?

Who knows what crazy thing she will say next. All of that combines for a heavy media push in her favor.

34. Bad as Scott Brown is, he is no Christine O'Donnell.
Coakley ran a poor campaign and said some really stupid things.

I'm far more worried about Dick Blumenthal here in CT. MacMahon is gaining ground on him. Yet his ads are dull as dishwater. All her ads say is that she loves to laugh. I hope that won't materialize into a big joke on us in November but I'm :scared:

23. Whatever, Tweety. His reasoning doesn't even make sense.
Republican teabaggers trounced Republican establishment candidates in Republican primary races so that means Republicans will trounce the Dems in November. WTF?

Did he forget that teabaggers aren't the only ones voting in November, unlike in the primaries where Republicans were the only ones voting for Republicans. And whatever moderate Republicans are left in that wacked out party might not be too excited about voting for the crazy person. One of his guests yesterday tried to explain this to him, but he was having none of it.

33. I don't think the media wants to "get it." They want to make people feel
that there's a "surge" of Tea Partiers out there. So if a a 100% of the 20% crazies vote, it's still just 20%...but we're doing the math...

Cash on the barrel, Coons wins convincingly in November.

The Pukes know it, too. The nutbags have seized control of the ferris wheel.

29. 4 million? ...and they voted for loons...
The Teabaggers have fractured the GOP, fine by me.

As for the 4 million #...quite a few of the primary votes were closed, and it's too early to tell how anyone will vote or even show up when it's election day.

32. I think that difference in primary participation
is misleading. They had more senate primaries (more seats in play) with more candidates and more "interesting" candidates. If yuo have a state where the D is guranteed to win and is unopposed in the primary and 4 fiery Rs running in the primary, which party will have more primary voters? NY gubernatorial race may be an example of this (I HOPE, because the R guy is SCARRRRYY!!)
