Huckabee compares sick people with burned down houses at Values-palooza
When Republicans attack health care reform, Democrats like to counter by accusing Republicans of wanting to repeal a law that requires insurance companies to cover people with pre-existing conditions. According to Republican Presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee, that's exactly right. People with pre-existing conditions, he explains are like houses that have already burned down.

"It sounds so good, and it's such a warm message to say we're not gonna deny anyone from a preexisting condition," Huckabee explained at the Value Voters Summit today. "Look, I think that sounds terrific, but I want to ask you something from a common sense perspective. Suppose we applied that principle our property insurance. And you can call your insurance agent and say, "I'd like to buy some insurance for my house." He'd say, "Tell me about your house." "Well sir, it burned down yesterday, but I'd like to insure it today." And he'll say "I'm sorry, but we can't insure it after it's already burned." Well, no preexisting conditions."

14. From the Same Huck Sinn who has compassion for killers.
The same Huck Sinn who has no compassion for those with pre-existing conditions is the same Huck Sinn filled with compassion for killers he pardoned in the name of Jesus, er, Ayn Rand. The same pardoned killers who go out and kill again.

And when the killers he pardoned kill again, ol Huck Sinn shrugs and says he had nothing to do with pardoning them.

3. Huckabee HAS Type 2 Diabetes!
That asshole HAS a pre-existing condition. Let's see how Jesus heals him when he goes blind, has a stroke, has a leg amputated or winds up on dialysis.

6. Of course he does.
With neo-cons, I always find out they are the source of their own self hatred.

11. Well well well! Wait til I tell hubby! He was just sayin,
that he didn't want to wish ill on anyone, but huckabee needs to "catch" something to find out if his tune would change. Karma remains undefeated.

4. So, people are like property, Mike? Then there can be nothing wrong with abortion,
since it is ok to dispose of scrap lumber.

7. Huckabee's religious world view seems to be
a punishment-based one.

His analogy is an "I got mine, too bad about yours" construct. And houses aren't people. There are many rooms in the Father's mansion and far too many religious crackpots in them.

"To the least of these, so then, unto me," according to What's-His-Name.

The least perceptive human being who ever lived understands that a house can be rebuilt and that the people who live in it are what's worth saving.

Worth saving and worth providing health care to whether they have an existing condition or not.

Unfortunately for the United States of America, Huckabee is ramping up his profile this last month and may be more seriously entertaining a run for the presidency. On one hand, the muddier the GOP field the more slips, slides, and wipe-outs. On the other, it does mean that he has a chance to win the nomination.

I'd prefer it if he took a cushy post at FOX News and stayed out of the race for the Oval Office as a compromise to my actual wish, which is that he be abducted by dog aliens and carried off to an extremely remote corner of a faraway galaxy, never to be heard from again.

8. Huck Sinn's God is Ayn Rand.
His Jesus is John Galt
His Bible is Atlas Shrugged
His Holy Ghost is the Invisible Hand of the Free Market.

I want to see the look on Huck Sinn's face when he dies, and St. Peter asks him to defend his endless worshipping of the Golden Elephant.

12. No, Huck showed his true colors!
Huck talks the Jesus talk, but he's like every other liar in the Republican Party. Huck worships the same Golden Elephant as every other Republican.
