Sen. Byron Dorgan---D of North Dakota---He's brilliant.
Edited on Tue Dec-08-09 07:05 PM by vaberella
I loved how he used civil rights campaigns, women's rights in paticular to say that women didn't have the right to vote and no one here would agree to deny women their rights.

He later broke down the importance of Medicare and how only 2 or 3 people might be against medicare. But no one except the government, and God bless them, gave seniors health care.

He was talking about Pharma and the amendment. It's Dorgan-Snowe Bill.

What is this bill?!

Some of you might love this, I love this amendment personally.

We can shop around the world for prescriptions drugs. Because if the EU can do it, we can do it---in the words of Dorgan (paraphrased---he used England getting medicine from Italy and vice versa).

It's the drug reimportation act.

All I could think was----India here I come.

ON EDIT: This is a bipartisan amendment. It's Grasseley, Snowe, Dorgan, McCain, Klobaucher supports it and a few more. So it's a good bill--and I was surprised so many Repubs are on board for this. Dorgan will expand on this tomorrow.

9. Nice guy too. I had lunch with him years ago when he was elected.
But what do you expect from the senator from the only State in the Union to be running a surplus these days with almost full employment? Did you know that N. Dakota has it's own central bank whose mandate is to promote long term stable growth for the state? It might be cold and populated like a western novel, but it has it's shit together.

2. I've liked him for a long time
He calls out our lopsided non-enforcement of our "free trade" agreements for what they are.

4. I get confused between Byron Dorgan and Bob Dornan
so I can never tell if these pro-Byron Dorgan are sarcastic or not.
