1. I may hurl...
"And it's very important when we come back that we have constitutional conservative leadership, because the American people's patience is about this big. So we have to make sure that we do what the people want us to do."

Why start now you sanctimonious woman?

2. 53% of the American public back in 2008 seemed to know what they wanted
and it was NOT more Republicans- not in the WH and NOT in Congress- and certainly not more "BushCheneypublicans".

If the public - not just the "Tea Party" contingent- seriously wants people like Bachmann, Boehner, Cantor, et. al in positions of power, then we are in serious trouble in this country IMHO. Mon dieu.

3. and they can change their minds 2 years later
that's what's called a democracy.

the interesting question is:

Did the current administration go too far or not far enough?

I'd like to see some data on that question

5. Me too
Although, judging by the supposed movement towards the Republicans, it appears that a lot of people have apparently been conned into somehow believing that Obama and the Democratic Party have gone too far and need to be reigned in. Either that or people honestly believe that the "obstructionists" are going to do something for them that the Democrats won't do for them. It never ceases to amaze me how angry people get about spending for domestic social programs and how nonchalant most people seem to be about the massive spending involved in "wars and occupations of choice" like Iraq and tax cuts for the wealthy.
:eyes:
I'm personally of the opinion that President Obama has gone pretty much as far as he could have gone during the last 1-2 years under the circumstances, namely massive obstruction and total all-out partisan warfare by the Republicans (particularly in the Senate)/Fox News/Tea Party axis, as well as frequent outbursts of "independence" from some of the congressional "Blue Dogs" and, of course, our favorite "independent caucus member", Holy Joe.

4. She should move closer to Bush
She'd be better placed to work on having an affair with him.

7. I have no doubt that endless investigations will ensue immediately
if the Republicans get a majority in the house. They have decided that the role of politicians is to entertain us with endless scandal, and inflict upon us endless war, and to line the pockets of the kingmakers. That is their mission and they're sticking to it.

9. She's the canary in the coal mine - that's what's going to happen
if the Rethugs gain control of Congress this time around. As for Michele herself, the shit doesn't fall very far from the bat.

11. They have no real plan, just to create these spectacles and circuses.
They have gone from the Party of NO to the Party of NOTHING.
