Clinton Warns of Republican Investigations

At last night's policy discussion, I asked Bill Clinton what Democrats can do to channel voter anger and try to close the enthusiasm gap seen in so many polls.

Clinton noted that of the fundamental economic issues facing the country, "no one is talking about this in ways that people can understand. We just say 'oh, people are just too mad to think.' That's insulting to people. 'They're too apathetic to care.' That's insulting."
...................

He also said that Americans have to realize that by not voting, "there's an 80% chance you'll get what you don't want."

One thing he believes voters don't want is Republican-led congressional investigations. If Republicans take control of the House, he warned they are prepared to "reward" President Obama for not investigating Bush administration abuses with "two years of unrelenting investigations."

1. Can't Obama just issue an Executive Order
that he will investigate himself, like Dimwit did?

I am so fucking sick of the Repuke's double-standards and hypocrisy.

3. Did Bush actually do that?
Wow, that took some nerve. Does doing so actually preclude Congressional investigations?

2. Very true.
Not engaging in justified investigations of Bush will be "rewarded" with unjustified investigations of Obama. This will make it even more difficult to get things done.

This is one more reason we HAVE to maintain a majority in both houses. We may not be totally happy with the Democrats but they're a damn sight better than what we'd have with a Republican majority.

4. We all know that's what will happen if the republicans regain control.
Two years of fruitless investigations, probable impeachment hearings and tens of millions of taxpayer dollars washed down the drain. Maybe even a government shutdown! That will be Obama's reward for reaching out to Republicans and trying to be "bipartisan." Hopefully it won't come to that.

6. Will impeachment be off the table?
We should have investigated the run up to war.

7. And he should know!
As has already been pointed out here, Michelle Bachmann and Darrell Issa have said as much.

8. They wouldn't have the chance to if Nancy hadn't taken impeachment off the table.
