(per Rachael) And now do they have to try and put it together with the house? I am confused.

Healthcare Reform

"We have a broad agreement," Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid told reporters, refusing to give any details on the talks.

Reid said reports the government-run "public option" had been dropped were "not true."

2. I think we're waiting for the CBO score.
(I HATE waiting for the CBO score btw.)

I doubt Harry's going to publicly commit to anything until he's got a price tag on it.

3. Yes, but without mandates
It just seemed we had moved so much further since then. And the mandate adds another dimension because the Senate subsidies are not enough as it is. The Medicare at 55 sounds good, but those people won't be subsidized and will have to be a fortune. Medicare is pretty near privatized already.

The whole thing is nearly a fiasco in my estimation and most people will know how much it pains me to say that.
