Biden: 'I guarantee' House majority
The Veep has been saying this for quite some time--hope he is right:

Vice President Biden promised Democrats on Thursday that they would keep control of the House and the Senate after the midterm elections.

“I guarantee you we’re going to have a majority in the House and a majority in the Senate,” Biden said at a fundraiser for Maryland Sen. Barbara Mikulski. “I absolutely believe that.”

Biden even suggested that the tea party’s primary victories could boost Democrats by rattling supporters who fear the conservative activists.

“Maybe the best thing to happen to us lately is the tea party wins,” he said. “Maybe it’ll shake some of our constituency out of their lethargy.”

6. I wish it had been anybody but Biden making this "guarantee"
His record on guarantees is not great. Especially jobs. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/06/02/biden-predicts-700k-to-14_n_598446.html

10. I don't think this is anything out of the ordinary for him.
What do people expect him to say? "The recent tea party wins terrify us. Surely, we shall be eviscerated in the coming elections. Doooooom!"

Of course not. He's rallying the troops ahead of the midterms. I can't remember a time when Biden has taken a negative stance on these things.

17. How about, "I think that things will turn out OK"?
That's positive without being predictive. I'd rather have the last laugh than have to eat crow.

11. The Poor Guy Can't Win
If he says he "hopes" we keep majorities, he will be attacked for not being forceful enough

If he says he "guarantees" a win he will be attacked for making dems too confident.

If he says he "fears" a loss he is criticized for being negative

If he says nothing he is not rallying the troops.

I like hearing his confident words.

12. Not after they punted on taxes. Keep dreaming. No action on DADT, no
action on taxes? What's the base going to be excited about? I am so angry right now that I really don't care any more.

16. He was awfully confident (in the interview with Rachel) regarding
having enough votes to overturn DADT, and we know how that turned out.

He's just trying to get people fired up.
