1. IL 14th Foster (D) vs Hultgren (R)
Edited on Fri Sep-24-10 08:35 AM by Saturday
4 year incumbent Foster (D) holding Hastert's old seat is fighting off Hultgren. The race is called a toss up right now. Foster has 3 times more money than Hultgren and I've seen a couple negative ads on TV from Foster. I'm sure more are to come as we get closer. One ad calling out Hultgren for being against TARP but his company profiting from it. GO FOSTER!

2. The polls show Gibbs (R) up 7 points over
Blue Dog Zack Space(D) in Ohio-18. Space is one of the a--holes that wants to extend the tax cuts on the rich, he is DINO anyway.

3. CNN dropped Potosnak v. Lance

But in canvassing? When you get into Bridgewater and Bedminster: affluent singles 25 to 40 - adding in like me? Many of us have moved here in the past 4-7 years to escape the lack of jobs in places like Rochester and Buffalo NY, Cleveland, Detroit . . .

We tend towards Democratic party.

5. Race to the bottom in Texas
Our "Democratic" candidate, Chet Edwards, is a disgrace. I am disgusted by his commercials -- he isn't even running against his GOP opponent Bill Flores -- he's running against Obama and Pelosi.

I may be a Yellow Dog Democrat, but I won't vote for Edwards.

6. My district (WA-3) looks like it's going to flip to Republican
Brian Baird is retiring and 2 SUSA polls have Herrera (R) leading Heck (D) by 9 and 13 points. Nate has the odds of this district being taken over by the Pubs at 80%. I suppose anything can happen in the next 5 weeks, but I'm not too hopeful.

8. I'm more hopeful about your district than you are. I don't trust SUSA polls
in WA this season. Did you read the internals? They make no sense. The DCCC released their Heck polling which shows a much closer race and that was before Herrera put her foot in it about Social Security--first she favors private accounts, then she doesn't and then the news broadcast old clis of her espousing privatization. Her numbers weren't good with the older crowd before. I'm sure they are worse now.

The Washington Poll will be out in October and I believe they are polling on this race.

9. Greenburg, Quinlan Rosner poll has Heck behind Herrera by 3
with Herrera at 47 and Heck at 44. Poll was a live poll of likely voters (cell & land lines)in the field Sept 15 & 16. In mid-June the GQR poll showed Heck behind by 7.

The SURVEYUSA poll found young voters favoring Herrera heavily. I suspect that is in part because only the very conservative young have landlines. Both GQR polls found young voters tending Democratic by large margins and found seniors heavily favoring Heck. Herrera did much better with the 35-55 crowd and does better with men than women in all polls released so far.

Sorry, I misread the post title, and didn't see you were asking specifically about house races. That's what I get for reading and watching football at the same time.

:)
