I fucking hate that Breitbart asshole and that harpy Amy Holmes.

13. His two rightwingnut guests, Andrew Breitbart and Amy Holmes, tried and mostly succeeded
in dominating the show.

They even made Bill Maher back down once or twice!

They had trouble allowing Ann Druyan and Seth finish their arguments before tearing them apart.

17. I couldn't do it ...
With two wingers on the "panel" they were emboldened to do what wingers do, raise their voice and talk over everyone with their BS ... Holmes is normally more reserved but with Brietbart on hand knew she had a wing man to be able to ramp it up ...

The "discussion" on HCR was horrid, just those two speading their crape and not letting anyone else get s word in, Seth just packed it in on that, because it was too complicated to battle ...

I honestly could not have done it, I barely can hold myself back from Holme's lower level BS, I would have at best just lost it on Brietbart, and with this smug attitude of his, it would have gone Jerry Springerish really quick ...

organization that supported people in need. Remember the edited video? Nothing was said about it. Did Mahr make a deal with this son of a bitch to not mention these subjects? It was a lame show.

18. This has been one of my problems with Maher
He brings these conservatives on his show and let's them spew their BS without challenge. Last night he let Breitbart and Holmes do that for most of the show. And when he calls Breitbart a journalist that only serves to legitimize the guy.

23. For some reason, Maher looked like he was out of his league, and befuddled for too
long of a time....he did get in some licks....too late, too weak and not enough.

Breitbart had his way and was not called out on any of what he had to say.

Disgusting.

24. Worst "Real Time" Show EVER.
Edited on Sat Sep-25-10 10:09 AM by Paladin
Poor writing, unchecked domination by a couple of obnoxious conservatives, Maher apologizing for the reactions of his liberal studio audience, one lame-ass old quote about evolution from Little Miss Delaware. It all looked thrown together at the very last minute. C'mon, Maher, we know you can do better than this......

Edited to add: The one bright spot was the interview with Pat Tillman's brother. Smart kid---too bad the rest of the show didn't live up to his standards......

28. His show started sucking hard last year. Andrew Brietbart AND the always annoying
conversation hog Amy Holmes? One would have been bad enough, but both? Together?

:puke:

I cancelled my HBO subscription because his show was the only thing I watched on it, and his show is either too annoying or boring to watch anymore. It used to be funny and interesting, now it's just boring.

I'm also sick and tired of listening to Bill's constant tirade about religion. I'm not religious myself, but people have a right to worship the religion of their choice or none at all. Butt the fuck out, Bill. I didn't tune in to listen to you berate people about their religion.

He's a little like a female Arianna Huffington, only he doesn't make my skin crawl like she does.

29. Why did he have Breitbart on?
And why did he say -- in response to Breitbart's blowhardiness -- that he was "lucky" he wasn't asked about racism? When I saw earlier in the week who the guests were, I thought for sure Breit would get his ass handed to him at some point over Shirley Sherrod. But no. Bill, take your own advice: Stand up to the loony Right and don't let them hijack the agenda. Neither Seth nor Ann Druyan had a chance to make even ONE point last night. Very disappointing, as I have come to expect more from Real Time.

Maybe Bill's mind was on his two weekend gigs in Vegas, because he sure as hell had no control over his own show.

30. Such a wasted opportunity
Maher blew it big time by having on these two republican clowns and no intelligent liberals. The entire time I was watching the show I was thinking that this could have been such a great opportunity to put Breitbart in his fucking place. This guy never goes on shows with liberals and this was the perfect show to match him up with someone like Cenk Uyger or Elliot Spitzer who could have easily humiliated him and broke down every argument he made.

Instead the two conservatives ran rings around Bill and made him look like an idiot. Bill is no intellectual and hes not great at debate, he screwed up royally by bringing on these two republicans who have a lifetime of experience at lying and making ridiculous arguments and just letting them spout their crap. I know Bill does an entertainment show and he doesn't sell himself as an academic, but still, if he had Cenk of the Young Turks on he could have made headline news and humiliated Breitbart in front of the entire world.
