Despite what the media wants us to believe--Dems appear to be making head way of late
**KENTUCKY SENATE:
Democrat Jack Conway has cut sharply into Republican Rand Paul's once-commanding lead in Kentucky's U.S. Senate race, moving into a statistical tie with a little more than five weeks before Election Day, according to the latest Courier-Journal/WHAS11 Bluegrass Poll.
According to the poll, Paul leads Conway 49 percent to 47 percent, with 4 percent undecided. That lead is well within the poll's 4 percentage point margin of error.

2. Sometimes it's all a matter of timing too
I think that the Dems were holding their fire more throughout the summer because they knew that they were not going to gain much traction during the summer and they wanted the Repubs to get their hopes (and expectations for themselves) up. With the way that the narrative has been written (by them and for them) by the corporate media, if they don't (re-)take Congress, it's going to really demoralize their base IMHO. Don't get me wrong, I still think we'll lose some seats- that's inevitable. However, the Repubs have to keep all of their current seats and then "run the tables", which seems like a pretty daunting prospect, particularly because of the "teabaggers" whom managed to win in the primaries but will almost certainly lose in the GE. This feels like it's going to end up being a more "mixed" results- assuming that Democrats GOTV.

3. Pretty much how i figure it, too.
We'll lose a few, but it will not be a bloodbath and we'll keep both houses.

It will, however, be even harder to get anything done the next 2 year than it was the past two. I wish we'd accomplished more on a real progressive agenda before this, when we had the numbers and the momentum from Obama's mandate.
