Bill Clinton: "Democrats ought to stand up and fight"
Former U.S. President Bill Clinton said his fellow Democrats should stop "mealy mouthing around" and start taking the fight to Republicans in the final weeks before this year's congressional elections.

"The Democrats ought to stand up and fight," Clinton said in an interview for Bloomberg Television's "Political Capital with Al Hunt," airing this weekend. "The Democrats have 30 days to sort of stand up, embrace the challenge, and offer a worthy alternative," he said. "If they lay down and let it be a referendum, our side is going to get whacked."

2. Damned right we should, and we lost the initiative last year.
That talk of "bipartisanship" was a pantload. The Dems have done some good things, but act like they are ashamed of it. Where's FDR when we need him?

People are hurting, badly. They need some roll up your sleeves, take no prisoners Dems to stand up for them. Like Alan Grayson. Instead, we get weak kneed, quasi-Republican blue dogs, and Tea Partiers who are nothing but a creation of Fox News.

Yes, I am pissed.

5. The Democrats in Washington should be men and women
enought to stand up and endorse healcare for all and expand Medicare so that people especially those 55 and older who lose their jobs will have coverage. They want us to rally around them when they haven't kept their promices. We will have to vote for them anyway just to keep the Republicans out and that is very sad!

6. Do as he says, not as he did
He sucked up to republicans as much as any Democrat I've ever seen.

12. Oh please Bill
Don't act as though you didn't go this yourself in 94'. The dems are fighting, the media just isn't paying them any attention, their attention is focused on Palin and Beck. I have a question for you Bill, what are you doing to help fight for the dems?
