Those of you who support Crist why do you trust a word the man says? |
|
Here is the track record. Crist is almost certainly a gay man who was virulently anti gay until about two weeks ago when he flip flopped and decided he is really in favor of gay rights (though he still is sticking with his sham marriage). He was pro life until he decided he really wasn't. He was against off shore drilling, then for it, then against it again. As far as I can tell he has no discernable principle in life other than that he should be elected to something.

4. I have no idea, honestly |
|
since I don't trust Crist to have any principles at all I can't really compare his postions to those of Rubio. What is to prevent him from turning into Rubio upon election?

11. According to the polls, Crist won't win either! |
|
So is it better to vote for erstwhile Republican reject Crist and lose or to vote Democratic? And you know, on a very basic level, predicting the future is folly.

5. Agreed. I don't trust him at all, and it has nothing to do with him being gay. |

For me, it all started with the voting errors in Florida and how he fought against the paper trail and tricked Democrats into thinking that the arcane voting rules would be changed. He went with his wingnut brethren on this issue.
I don't believe a word he says.

6. To be clear, my problem isn't that Crist is gay |
|
it is that he is a lying hypocrite who is willing to advocate for laws harming gays while lying about being gay. then when the wind blows the other way he changes his mind.

8. I hear you. Apart from him not coming out, his policies scare me. If he does win, |
|
how will his voting record on gay rights measure up?
For those Democrats like Wexler who are creaming their pants over him, convinced that he'll be reasonable and caucus with the Democrats, I fear that he's an opportunist who simply craves the power. I'm not convinced that he'd do the right thing. I believe that he only went along with Obama on the stimulus deal because Obama is relatively popular in Florida.

I merely figure that his shameless opportunism will be better for us than Rubio's principled craziness.

They keep posting that Crist is the only way for us to 'win the seat' but Crist is not 'us' and that seat would not be ours. We have a Democratic nominee. Apparently his being black is a huge issue in Florida. Gore and Clinton and Obama are all supporting Meek. The Democratic candidate, our only nominee. Just note that the Crist supporters keep claiming his win is 'our win' when in fact his win is a loss for the Democratic Party. We have one nominee, and one only. One chance to win that seat. Basically, the Crist supporters are saying they have to vote for a Republican to defeat a Republican. Rubio is a Republican, not some new hatched form of creature. We always run against Republicans, and never is that an excuse to vote for yet another Republican. Never.

|
Does anyone doubt he would caucus with the R's--f they were to somehow win back the Senate?

Most of them didn't even give Meek the chance to be given a forum to make a solid chance. Now we see Crist given so much love for what, I'll never know.
