Sarah was conceived during what Paladino's wife, Cathy, described to the Post as a "very short affair" with an employee.

Cathy didn't know about Sarah's existence until last year, after the couple's 29-year-old son, Patrick, was killed in a car crash just a few weeks after leaving rehab for drug and alcohol addiction.

1. I would think his racist humor and love of bestiality porn would be worse.
Of course, there's more to come out about him too.

you have to admit Republicans know how to pick candidates who resonate with people.

Better add this:

10. yes. and he was alleged to have engaged the services of prostitutes as gov and as AG
That is a different can of worms, since it involves illegal activity as opposed to merely being an unfaithful creep. You'll note that Spitzer's successor, David Paterson, is a Democrat who admitted to having had extramarital affairs but who didn't end up having to resign.

The better comparsion is with David Vitter, who effectively admitted to patronizing a prostitute and got away without having to resign his seat in the Senate (and likely will be re-elected). That's a double standard, although for what its worth, other repubs who merely cheated have ended up resigning (Bob Livingston, Mark Souder) and some haven't (Ensign, Hyde).

i'm putting love-child-from-brief-affair up there in terms of moral failing.

but when you're a republican, all you have to do is ask Jebus for forgiveness and it's all good.

6. What is a "very short affair"? Does a one night stand qualify?
Or is it the number of boinks that matters?

8. John Edwards sent him in to exile. Guess it all depends if
you have an "R" or a "D" after your name, doesn't it. Nothing condones it but that R and D makes a difference about the press and the people.

imagery, stealing from taxpayers to pay for rent, etc., none of it matters.

If you have an "R" after your name, all is forgiven, and we empathize with you.

But, if you have a "D" after your name, you should resign in shame. Indeed, we will work to vote your ass out of office. That'll teach you!! :(

Republicans are allowed to use morality to win votes. When they screw up, which is quite common, it does not matter since they have been "chosen by God". :eyes:
