Spokesman: Rubio's change on Social Security not a flip-flop
TAMPA — Marco Rubio's change in position on privatization of Social Security was "a conclusion based on extensive study of the fiscal impact," not a flip-flop intended to win votes, his campaign press spokesman said today.

Responding to news reports calling it a new position, spokesman Alex Burgos also said Rubio's stance opposing privatization isn't new -- he's been saying it since March.

<snip>
But Burgos said Rubio's shift is different, even though Rubio also signed a pledge last year to support partial privatization, which he now no longer honors.

Last September, appearing on conservative radio host Laura Ingraham's show, Rubio agreed to sign her 10-point pledge including No. 8 on Social Security, labeled "End Generational Theft."

He was for privatization before that position would keep him from getting elected. I would bet the farm that he would be for privatization of Social Security if elected.

1. He did the same regarding immigration.
He and Jeb Bush said an Arizona-style immigration bill was wrong for Florida - until polls came out and he "changed his mind."

2. How Meek isn't up by 30 points over these bozos will mystify me forever
neither Rubio or Crist appear to have anything like a principle.

3. slow awakening
I believe a subtle shift is taking place right now, Rubio is getting some not so good press :cry: and Chuckles is getting desperate ( combo negative ad against both Dumbo and Meek).

Patience.

Then again, this is Florida. ;-)
