Poll: Blumenthal, McMahon running neck and neck
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) - A new poll shows that Democrat Richard Blumenthal's lead in Connecticut's U.S. Senate race over Republican Linda McMahon has evaporated to within the survey's margin of error.

The Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday shows Blumenthal, the state attorney general, with a 49 percent to 46 percent lead over McMahon, former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment.

The survey of 1,083 likely voters has a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

8. Here are a some reasons:
1) She is the Republican

2) He is the Democrat and we need to shake things up

3) I don't want a majority of Dems in every branch of our government

4) I am batshit crazy myself

My neighbor, who is usually sane, just put up a big LINDA sign and I've been trying to figure out why. He is a libertarian (closet Republican). He doesn't want the Democratic agenda to go through so by voting for Linda he can prevent it.

Funny, the guy has liked Blumenthal in the past. He was very pleased that Blumenthal was on his side against rate hikes by UI, our power company. But now that has gone right out the window. So I probably would say 1-3 would apply to him.

14. He's my neighbor on the OTHER side of my house! And yes, he does recycle...
And the funny thing is, he and his wife and teenaged son are the nicest people you'd ever want to meet! they have been extremely kind and helpful to me during my husband's recent recuperation from back surgery...they watered my lawn, pruned one of my trees and even fertilized my grass! The kid comes over and shovels snow without even asking...

I am baffled by their politics...

2. I wouldn't trust Quinnipiac if they were the last polling firm on earth PLUS
this poll was done before Big Dog came and campaigned for Blumenthal I bet those numbers will change if another poll came out

13. Which polling firms do you trust?
Is there a "go to" polling organization that is generally trustworthy?

3. Same pollster who found Gillibrand tied with her opponent and Cuomo close from his.
A pattern with them, it seems. We'll see how their model performs better in this election that it did in others.

10. The Q-poll failed to pick up Lamont's late surge against
LIEberman in the 2006 primary too. They also failed to pick up Malloy's surge too.
