Good news.

Gillibrand Has Double-Digit Lead
A new Marist Poll in New York finds Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D) leads challenger Joseph DioGuardi (D) by 11 points among likely voters, 52% to 41%.

Said pollster Lee Miringoff: "The seat is leaning Gillibrand's way. But, the contest remains competitive."

In the state's other U.S. Senate race, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D) has a huge lead over Jay Townsend (R), 58% to 37%.

Fox news brings bad news for Democrats (Though some of these races are very close)

The latest polls from Fox News show only good news for Republicans in key U.S. Senate races around the country:

In Colorado, Ken Buck (R) leads Sen. Michael Bennet (D), 47% to 43%.

In Wisconsin, Ron Johnson (R) leads Sen. Russ Feingold (D), 52% to 44%.

In Washington, Sen. Patty Murray (D) edges Dino Rossi (R), 48% to 47%.

In Illinois, Mark Kirk (R) edges Alexi Giannoulias (D), 42% to 40%.

In Ohio, Rob Portman (R) leads Lee Fisher (D), 50% to 37%

And Toomey has a short lead in this Suffolk Poll

http://politicalwire.com/archives/2010/09/28/toomey_holds_narrow_lead_in_pennsylvania.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+PoliticalWire+(Political+Wire)

Toomey Holds Narrow Lead in Pennsylvania
A new Suffolk poll in Pennsylvania shows Pat Toomey (R) with a five point lead over Rep. Joe Sestak (D) in the U.S. Senate race, 45% to 40% with 13% still undecided.

Two polls released yesterday gave Toomey leads of seven and eight points.

In the gubernatorial race, Tom Corbett (R) leads Dan Onorato (D), 47% to 40% with 12% still undecided.

Said pollster David Paleologos: "Republicans are headed for potentially a double-win. But our numbers seem to be a little closer than most are showing."

3. The fact we are even talking about this race at all...
...is really not good news at all.

That pollsters are even paying attention to this race hints at the potential for utter disaster.

"Said pollster Lee Miringoff: 'The seat is leaning Gillibrand's way. But, the contest remains competitive.'"

This shouldn't even be close. We are having to defend even the bluest of blue states.

4. Heh. Remember when she first got appointed and there was this huge call from...
the peanut gallery to primary her and get a "real" Democrat to run?

Well, they got their wish. She got primaried and fully 20% of the "real Democrats" in the state voted for the completely unknown person with no policy, positions, endorsements, or resume.

I just hope the rest of us can make up for those assholes who call themselves the "base."
