CNN Live Feed: The reporter is already piecing together a cynical angle for the rally story.
"He's going to give it the 'ole college try, but without his name on the ballot, people are not going to be focused on election day."

He's now chatting with someone else... he keeps reiterating that his name isn't on the ballot. That he's still pretty popular, but that many are not focused on election day.

He keeps rehearsing the line over and over again. "It's not going to be easy..."

8. I think the size of the crowd caught them by surprise tonight...
.... several of them have admitted as such on the old Twitter. ("them" = DC journos)

It doesn't work with their narrative .... so they're at a loss as to what to say.
