BTW, Feingold was at the Obama rally in Madsion last night! Gets last laugh on pundits
U.S. Sen. Russ Feingold's appearance in Madison for the rally led by President Barack Obama gave Feingold the opportunity and the motive to show up a number of pundits around the country.

The leader in that clubhouse belongs to Sean Hannity, whose taped broadcast had him saying that Feingold didn't want to be seen by the president.

In his remarks, Feingold called Obama his friend. In his remarks, the president made note of the differences between the two, but gave his support.

Feingold's staff said Feingold had two votes in the Senate on Wednesday. That light schedule allowed him enough time to Tweet his followers and say he was headed to Madison to be with the president.

Feingold has not missed a vote in the Senate, which creates a bit of a dilemma for him this fall. If he's intent on not missing votes, that means he is not in Wisconsin campaigning to keep his seat. For the most part, Feingold has done most of his campaigning on the weekends.

Feingold is in a tough battle with Republican challenger Ron Johnson. Most of the polls have him trailing Johnson.

1. It is unusual that a Senator up for re-election would not have missed a single vote
It is great that he was able to get there.

5. Russ is an unusual senator
Not missing any votes is another plus for him in a state that values the work ethic.

3. It was a great experience. The line to get in extended more than a mile
I had to work so I got there late and so I was near the end of the line, and what a walk! so many happy and enthused people. I didn't get into the main area where the president was appearing due to it being too crowded--about 17,500 did get in. So another 15,000 or so of us were behind the stage on Bascomb Hill. It didn't matter we were excited and we could hear the speeches and when the president was introduced there was a wave of applause. I think this visit did a lot of good and I expect that Madison will deliver big for the Dem ticket on November 2. I was very happy to see Feingold and Barrett (our candidate for governor there). Barrett appears to have a very organized campaign. His people were out everywhere giving signs away, literature, buttons, yard signs, registering people, etc. I think that the Republicans better not get too cocky because I think Dems are waking up and will turn out in numbers that the pollsters right now are not forseeing.

4. That's what I wanted to hear. Great news, I'm even excited by this.
Probably in a week we'll see some crazy changes in Feingold's election status. I hope Obama goes to a lot of places and turns the tide. I'm glad you had fun....I'm so crazy excited. Woohoo!!

6. The fact that a Senator still has to physically be there to vote illustrates a backwardness...
...in our system that we need to get rid of.

7. Thank you. Some folks here said Feingold didn't want to be seen with Obama
and I believed that he wouldn't appear at the rally. I'm glad you posted this.

Now I'm wondering whether I can believe much of anything said on DU, though. It seems like there's as much bullshit to wade through here as there is on RW sites.

Again, thank you for posting the correct information.
