(R)asmussen Poll--MA Governor--Patrick (D) expands lead over Baker (R) |
|
Democratic Governor Deval Patrick still holds a small lead over Republican challenger Charlie Baker in his bid for reelection in Massachusetts, with Democrat-turned-Independent Tim Cahill a far distant third.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Massachusetts shows Patrick earning 47% support to Baker’s 42% when leaners are included. Cahill trails with six percent (6%) of the vote. Two percent (2%) prefer another candidate in the race, and three percent (3%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)
The findings shift the race from a Toss-Up to Leans Democratic in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Gubernatorial Scorecard.
Two weeks ago, Patrick held a 45% to 42% edge on Baker, with Cahill at five percent (5%) when leaners were part of the totals.

3. They are, but they may be smart enough to understand that Baker is no better than Patrick and even |
|
worse.
In addition, Baker's low likability does not help him at all.

2. Good news, even if this is still too close. |

I guess the media will use the non-leaners model again, given that it gives a closer race than the leaners model. It has been amusing to see how they could go from one model to the other depending on which one makes Baker look better.
