Carol is on the Koch brothers. and Co. hit list. They are blasting her with attack ads and she needs donations
in order to compete. Here is the email I received from her:


What is the First District Congressional seat worth to conservative groups? What are they willing to spend to defeat us?

As we speak, groups with pleasant sounding names like Americans for Prosperity and Revere America are spending many hundreds of thousands of dollars to defeat us. They don't want all Americans to prosper and they don't "revere" America.

They will spend more money running television ads in one week than we spent on our entire 2006 campaign.

These are front groups. Take Americans for Prosperity, which was created by billionaires who own a large conglomerate, Koch Industries. Fred Koch helped to found the John Birch Society. Now his sons have created Americans for Prosperity. They feign to be grassroots, but their expensive buses and professional commercials give them away. They want you to believe that they have the people's interests in mind, but they are really looking out for their business interests and the interests of other billionaires.

These groups will stop at nothing to take control of Washington. To do so, they have to get through us. We cannot let that happen. Today marks the end of the fundraising quarter. I need your help to battle these groups on the airwaves, in the mailboxes, and on the ground.

We have always been able to pool our resources and overcome the odds and the special interests. These groups and their corporate backers have committed big money to our race. We have fought hard to change the direction of our country over the past few years. We passed a new G.I. Bill of Rights. We provided historic funding to take care of our veterans. We passed major reform laws for our health care system and of Wall Street. Still, if we lose now, they will try to undo much of what we've accomplished.

1. Boy does she ever. That's a really tough race.

She barely won/held on to that seat in the best of times (2006 & 2008). The only poll I've seen recently has her down by ten and she's not getting enough help from the top of the ticket.
