HealthCare.gov is getting better based in part on your feedback.

HealthCare.gov is getting better based in part on your feedback.

As of October 1, you are now able to compare important details about the private plans offered to individuals and families, such as:

  • Monthly premium estimates

  • Percent of people who pay more than the starting premium estimate based on health status This will change*.

  • Percent of people denied coverage This will change*.

  • Annual deductibles

  • Maximum out-of-pocket limits

  • Major categories of services covered

  • Consumer's share of cost for these services
When you review these plans, you can compare the prices charged (monthly premiums) against the level of protection they provide. For example, you can see how premiums (price) may be higher when the maximum you must pay out-of-pocket for the services you use is lower (more protection).

What you see on the site today is still just the beginning. We will keep expanding and improving the information offered here at HealthCare.gov. Information for employers on benefits and monthly premiums in the small group insurance market is coming soon.

Check out the new information that’s now at your fingertips, and keep letting us know how to make HealthCare.gov your best source for information on affordable health care coverage.

2. I think this is a fantastic tool
The problem with posting this is that no one knows the criteria you put in or how many people fall into your category.

This tool is going to help a lot of people by making easier to compare and find affordable health care options.

3. Great for younger, healthy people.
Good for them, nothing for those over 50 but not old enough for Medicare or poor enough for Medicaid.

I'm going to keep whining because I'm hurting out here. ;)

6. Just fiy
This website you love is not even set up to take information about my family. We are not approved by Rick Warren and Donnie McClurkin, you see.
So nice for you real citizens to have a website! I guess. We the people wanted more and better reforms, in large majorities. Some of us just want equal treatment under the law.

10. "Starting in 2014"
Let insurers rape the public for a few more years first, then kick in? Another concession to the sociopaths (for nothing in return) that renders the legislation toothless.

11. Didn't you mean to say "rape the survivors?"
It's hard to throw confetti around when people are dying daily from lack of access to medical care. This site gives you a link to clinics providing affordable services for the uninsured. I can't help but wonder how many provide things such as chemotherapy. If there was going to be anything in the interim between lousy insurance and slightly less lousy insurance, it should have been Medicare for all.
