New Poll: South Carolina Governor--Haley (R) 45% Sheheen (D) 41%
A new poll completed just last evening shows some significant positive movement for Vincent Sheheen, with the race a virtual dead heat. Nikki Haley leads Sheheen 45%-41%, within the poll’s margin of error of 3.9%. Thirteen percent remain undecided.

The poll was conducted by South Carolina pollster Crantford & Associates. The survey involved 634 active registered South Carolina voters. Data collection occurred Thursday September the 30th between 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

While Rasmussen surveys have shown Haley maintaining a strong lead, the new results might signal that the accumulation of negative stories about Haley’s financial dealings is finally taking a toll. On Sunday, John O’Connor of The State explored the $110,000 fundraising job created specifically for Haley by Lexington Medical Center.

The Crantford poll also included the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Jim Demint and surprise challenger Alvin Green. Not surprisingly, Demint holds a 56%-23% lead in that race.

1. Go down Mama Grizzly, go down
It will be so sweet to see the sad faces on all the pundits who say Haley will win. Maybe we will finally be rid of Sarah Palin and her junior high school clique.

2. I figured this had the potential to get tight after the sex scandal broke
As weak as the accusations from the bloger about a sex scandal sounded, I think it's finally taking a toll on Haley as well as the other negative publicity.

3. Haley has peaked

I think Haley fatigue is setting in. Perfect timing (for us).

16. If only her vomit-inducing commercials had peaked.
But, they just got started. Add those to the ones my area gets for those assclowns over in Georgia, and it's a real puke-fest here. I cannot wait until this election is over.

9. I'd vote for a smelly bag of week old gym socks over DeMented. It would do far less damage. NT

10. I'm not convinced of that. Take a good look at Greene.

The dude's scary, I mean, he has no positions. I'm no DeMint fan, can't stand the guy, wish my state could offer some better people, but Greene? He needs to walk away. Most unfit candidate for office I've ever seen.

14. It's a moot point, because Greene has ZERO chance (which is probably exactly what the intention
was of WHOMEVER got him to run in the primary in the first place), but still... I'd STILL vote for him over DeMint. DeMint's whole intent (along with most other Repukes and ALL of the TeaBagger candidates) is to bring the government to a halt. At least with Greene we could just have him drooling over in the corner humming "Let's Stay Together" to himself. ;)
