There are several polls showing that more interest is in the Democrats succeeding in the November election and the trend will be that Democrats that are in positions considered toss-ups will at least win by a couple points.
My guess is that it will be common MSMspeak by mid-October. The danger is that it helps Republicans by making Democrats feel comfortable enough that they end up not voting.

1. The polls will tighten up, per the usual pattern |
|
Whether there's a sustainable trend above and beyond that remains to be seen.
Nate Silver's take is that turnout will be average for Democrats but higher than normal for Republicans, which accounts for the polling and odds he's putting up.

2. I'm guessing that Democrats will turn out more if the Zombie Message is delivered |
|
The Zombie Message is the Republican/Teabagger Extremist antics will soon be common knowledge. It's up to the "Base" to spread the word that the differences between Democrats and Republicans could not be even MORE obvious than the 2008 election.
Vote or don't moan about the consequences.
