would Meek's supporters, support crist
if Meek got out of the race because progressives told them too? Or would Meek dropping out sink Sink?

Seems like the progressive blogosphere want the progressive democrat to drop out, so that the rethug/indie can have a chance to beat the teabagger.

DU want do you all think? And if this was to happen would the MOST loyal democratic base sit at home and say, "FUCK all you'll!"

1. 'pragmatists' have already noted on DU - technically
It's not allowed.

But 'centrist' dems always leave this gray area
That includes the likes of Lieberman or Crist.

3. Not sure of your terminologies, actually
I have never in my life met a liberal or a progressive who would every vote for a right wing candidate over a Democrat. Period. Crist is right wing, Palinista. The people I see favoring Crist on DU piss this progressive off big time. They are not to my left, but way to my right. Centrist types. The sort we used to call 'Reagan Democrats'. I call 'em semi-Dems. As far as I'm concerned, voting for the likes of Recent Republican Reject marks a person as 'not progressive' from square one. It makes them right leaning, a 'moderate' at best, centrist, whatever they like to be called.
Plus, no one tells me how to vote, and if they did, I'd tell them to fuck off. The very idea. There is one Democratic Candidate in Florida, and that is Kendrick Meek.
Among the people supporting the Democratic candidate are the President, the VP, Bill Clinton, myself, and every Progressive I know.

4. Progressives wasn't there for Meek in the beginning
but were having money bombs left and right for halter. Then when it it was apparent that switchero couldn't beat rubio, I SAW on TV progressive PUNDITS (markos, dean)practically begging crist to switch parties.Meek was considered insignificant to their equation until they realize that dems wasn't running toward crist like they thought they would.

5. Markos is a self serving pig
So do not do the broad brush. He is out for himself, the voice of no one else. You are in all these threads saying this, when it is others who are voting for Crist over Meek, not those to the left, not progressives, not liberals. Read DU. Do a search. See for yourself who's who.

8. I would go along with ditching Meek if...
I could trust Crist. I simply can not trust any person who
has no core beliefs, and will switch at the drop of a hat.

9. he will always have the threat of rethug/teabagger
challenge and he will vote that way.
This is all a mute point because if Meek drops out so will the black vote and crist will sink Sink right along with his candidacy. Florida will go back to the way it was before.

10. I doubt enough of them would.
The original plan was for him to run against Crist... Why would they turn around and vote for him?

Can you imagine if they just made the offer early on? "Hey... If we can't make up our mind between two candidates... Will you just get out of the way and let us pick?"
