Coming out right here, right now: We live in Florida |

My wife and I are going to vote for Crist over Meeks, cannot and do not want to see Senator Rubio!
Have never ever voted for anything other than Democrats - But, I can't stand thinking about a Senate ruled by stupid Tea Party morons.

This is pure madness.
Rubio is a fucking lunatic, and the majority of Floridians don't want him. Crist is within single digits of Rubio. Meeks needs to take this one for the team.

But I will say this - much as I was pre-disposed to Dagget - I voted for Corzine and Chris Christie (NJ - GOV - R) still won.
I just hate NOT seeing a Democratic on any ballot. But I don't live there and if you feel Crist will give the Democratic residents of Florida all they want and lockstep with the progressive and liberals in your state - you gotta do what you gotta do.;-)

|
Edited on Wed Oct-06-10 10:06 AM by Tony_FLADEM
He changed the voting system so there is a paper trail when you cast your vote.
Also, the first thing he did as governor was change the rule that ex-felons have to appeal to the state in order to get their voting rights back. This helped the Democratic Party since most of these ex-felons are African-Americans and vote Democratic.
I don't know many Republicans who take actions that help the other party politically. That alone makes Crist better than all Republicans.

14. About this changing to a paper trail......Christ did that..proposed that |
|
and fought for that...
That paper trail, and a big turn out in 2008, helped keep the state clean and fair.. Now..who did Florida vote for in 2008???? Let me see??? Gotta look back on my files..see you later. .Christ had something to do with that

15. In every poll the democrat is running a poor third. |
|
He has to make a decision. Yes, the dem vote is being split--but Meek hasn't shown with less than a month to go before the election that he can even poll second place. It's based on these sorts of things that the people of FL need to make a decision and I can't blame them if they go for Crist who in a recent poll is only six-points behind Meek while Meek is polling in the teens.

Rubio is far too dangerous to be allowed to be one of our Senators. Meek (unfortunate name) just doesn't have whatever it is that you have to have to be elected these days. The only realistic chance we have of throttling Rubio in the cradle is by having Charlie in the Senate instead. BTW, I'm not sure that Charlie wouldn't be a better 'Democrat' than some of our famous Blue Dogs!

23. Meeks is fast losing support because I think other Democrats are thinking like you. |
|
If that's what it takes to make sure Rubio doesn't win, then that's what it takes.
I see Crist is only 9% behind. He was behind by double digits for many months. I think Dems are waking up to the fact that Meeks has no chance of winning.
Now, if only Floridians would smarten up and elect Alex Sink.

Meek just doesn't have the support. Crist has a much smaller gap to bridge, so if enough people shift to his camp, there's a chance we might keep Rubio out.
I'm not thrilled about Crist, but having lived here my entire life, I know he's not as much of a nut as many Repubs. Nowhere near what we'll get if Rubio wins the office.

I'm waiting to see if there's any big change in the polls but if Rubio doesn't get caught with a live man or a dead woman (as the old saying goes) between now and Election day, I'll be holding my nose and voting Crist.

32. OK, I feel a little better about what I HAVE to do. |
|
In 40 years, I have maybe missed 3 primary votes. Otherwise, have voted in ever primary and general election. Have never, I repeat never voted for anyone other than a democrat even when it was unlikely they would win. But I have agonized over this senate race. I would like to vote for Meeks, but there is no way he will win. I cannot bear the thought of one of my Senators being Marco Rubio. So I have decided to vote for Charlie Crist. Seeing the support of fellow DU'ers for another anguished Fl voter, has made my decision a little easier.
