Can't we get a judge to freeze the use of the Chamber's $$ |
|
I don't see why we can't get a judge to put a freeze or a moratorium on the use of this tainted Chamber of Commerce money in the elecitons until the issue is fully investigated. Foreign money in US elections is illegal. Any ad paid for with that money should be pulled. Why is this not being discussed?

I don't know that anybody has brought a motion to do that and we don't have standing.
A judge can't just do it on their own volition, somebody has to file a motion and petition the court for redress to do just that. Then it would get added to a judicial calendar and there would likely be a hearing as it'd be career-ending for any federal jurist to impose a moratorium pending the hearing this close to the end of the election season only to have USCoC prevail and turn around claiming they were materially damaged by being blocked from their legal right to involvement in the political process by that moratorium.

3. If they don't have to disclose until next year then some legal eagles should tie them up until then. |

4. Wouldn't a grand jury have enough evidence |

to see foreign money in elections and then indict. Then a judge could freeze the spending until the issue is decided in court. But to make a difference, that would have to happen pretty quick. Probably not possible, but it sure seems obviously illegal, not that that ever stopped the GOP before.
