Is this economy the new "norm"?

Just maybe this recession is worse than the Great Depression? The "stimulus" helped. But it was only a temporary fix.

It is possible that the unemployment will stay where it is or go higher for several years? What happens then? That is the question that Americans must confront.

If indeed, this is the new reality, which Party do we want in charge? IF we are going to face very difficult times, do we want the more corporate-friendly Republicans or the more people-friendly Democrats? If there are no jobs to be had, do you want a Party of food stamps or a Party that talks of free enterprise and individualism?

This election may be the most important decision many Americans will ever make. They have never experienced hunger or homelessness and the cruel indifference of those with money.

This is not a pleasant subject. It is negative to think we will not recover from this downturn very soon. But, we are in a deep, deep hole and it is going to take a long time to get out of it. Simply putting the "jobs-creating" Republicans in charge will not make it better, because they created no jobs. They could make it much, much worse.

You should vote this election. But you should be very careful about whom you pull the lever for - especially if you think the Republicans have the answer.

1. This economy is not the new norm.
It is the relative calm before the storm.

Once the Die-off begins in earnest, it won't matter which "party" is in control. After the Die-off, the wealthy elite will have its planet of serfs, and the economy will be totally different. The "socialism for the wealthy" that we now see is just a prelude. The billion or so serfs that will be left will have a relatively nice life, at least compared to the teeming masses of today.

If we allow this to happen...

7. Wars have always been a means of population control.
Add to that Health Insurance instead of Health Care, crappy food, high cancer rates, environmental degradation and the early rumblings of a mass-suicide. The wealthy elite, along with various Dominionists, want the planet to themselves. We have a society and an economic system that is no longer good for people. We are now in the midst of one of the largest and fastest species die-offs the planet has ever experienced. Extrapolate that out.

You can deny that a human die-off is possible and maybe even in the works. Or you can work and fight to prevent it. That choice is yours.

9. I have never seen so many.
The gay teenager suicides are in the news. I've known more suicides in my life in the past two years, than in the rest of my life combined. I have also seen more suicide by cop stories lately. Foreclosure suicides and "Kevorkians" also seem to be on the rise. Again, it's rumblings, not hard evidence. I think we will know more in the next year or two, particularly if the economy does not get noticeable better.

We are going to get rolled in this election because the economy sucked and if it sucks in 012 we will get rolled again. Now, if the economy sucks in 2014 i8t will be the Republicans turn to get rolled.

That's just how the world works...
