Notice the GOPers mode of flame and blame?

Its all negative and cynical..

The GOPers do not pass, Reason, Sanity, and Clarity....

They do not deserve a repeat of what W Bush did to us.... period....

Hustle your people guys....the GOPers might out spend us but we got Logic, Reason, and Positivity our Side....

They got Sour Grapes and Greed on theirs.

2. your line of reasoning...
...taken at face value would suggest that progressive dems could, maybe even should (depending on the situation), with a stright face cross party lines to vote green, indie or even puke.

What are you actually trying to say?

5. The GOP needs to wander in the wilderness for the next 40 years, preferably a desert...
I'm pretty sure I get what you are saying, Opihi.

Many a long year ago I considered what the respective party platforms of the Democrats and the Republicans were (and are). No matter how many times my favorite candidate didn't make it past the primary season, no matter what disappointments I may have felt over this or that policy or vote, it always came down to this when I had the ballot in my hands:

Which party promoted women's rights and civil rights for minorities, and which party opposed them? Which party ultimately guaranteed a woman could obtain a safe and legal abortion, and which party did everything in their power to make it impossible? Which party didn't care how you worshipped God, or even if you did, and which party made every effort to bring religious fanatics on board and cater to their every whim? Which party believed in working for the environment, safe food and other products, as well as the health and safety of workers? -- and which party worshipped at the altar of megaconglomerate corporations and claimed to believe such entities would regulate themselves?

Given a choice between a Democrat and a Republican on the ballot, I will vote for the Democrat every time. Greens are not even on my radar any more, because they refuse to run local candidates who actually have a chance of winning, and I'm done arguing about the purity and rightness of their intentions. We are stuck with a two-party system, it is what it is, and I know which party will try to destroy what I believe in and which party will try to make a better world for the little guy -- sometimes failing, but often succeeding, at least until the next time a Repub is elected.

I've been voting since 1968, when I worked for the McCarthy campaign heart and soul in California. The night he lost the primary, the victor, Bobby Kennedy, was assassinated live on television.

I'm just saying I've had a long time to think about this stuff, and the GOP has never made me doubt my decision to vote Democratic and do what I can to keep the GOP out of power.
