Kos Diary: WI Sen Breaking: Johnson Hired Pedophile Shortly After Child Sexual Assault Conviction
According to court records, in early 1994 child predator Steven M. Sosinski had his wages garnished from his employer, which was listed at the time as Rexam Extrusions. Rexam Extrusions was the name of Ron Johnson's company, Pacur, during the mid-nineties, but was changed back to Pacur in 1997.

In June of 1993, Sosinski was convicted of felony sexual assualt of a child. In September of 1993 Sosinski filed unemployment, but was hired by Rexam Extrusions / Pacur sometime in early 1994, according to court records. At the time of Sosinski's hiring, Ron Johnson was the general manager / president of Rexam Extrusions.

My guess is that Feingold won't touch this--and I'm not sure he should.

1. Somebody should
If the GOP is going to trash Jerry Brown because of a remark made by an aide, then Johnson should receive the same treatment. Maybe Johnson didn't hire the guy himself but someone who worked for him did.

2. No -- HE (Feingold) shouldn't touch this.
But that does NOT mean the story should not be put out there.

3. Guilt by association is unfair -- HOWEVER
Looking at a pattern of misconduct is worthy of judging a person-- this is a pattern.

6. What's the alleged misconduct?
Presumably when you hire prison labor, the employees have done something worthy of incarceration.

Smacks of desperation.

OTOH... when it comes to WI, I am desperate.

4. Feingold wouldn't have to touch it
If it can somehow make it's way into the news cycle, then that's all that needs happen with this.

5. It was a different environment almost 20 years ago
there were no real background checks, no requirements for sex offenders to register. It's really a non-issue.

7. Johnson testified in Madison that the Church should
not be sued for pedophile priests. What's up with this guy?

9. Regardless Feingold is going to get blamed for it being leaked
and all the press surrounding it. Just like Brown had nothing to do with Whitman's mess but he got blamed for it. And the ahole nuts in Wisconsin who are going to vote for Johnson wouldn't care if he was the sex offender. They are tea bags and radical republicans and they do what they want especially if it is the wrong thing as long as they cans screw over Democrats.

11. As much as I dislike Johnson, assuming this person was legally out of jail, I cant see why
Edited on Mon Oct-11-10 02:41 PM by Mass
this goes to his negatives. Or should people who have purged their pain never find another job (assuming the job was not to be in contact with kids, of course).
