Does Palin provide a false sense of security?
Edited on Wed Dec-09-09 04:39 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
I think it quite likely that Barack Obama would beat Sarah Palin.

I also do not think she will be the nominee.

Palin's probable role will be to make some other, slightly more presentable, RW thug appear to be the "sane" choice.

If Mitt Romney were the pug nominee I would call it a 50-50 race. (At this point in time, which is the only point in time we are in so pointing out that this isn't 2012 is not revelatory)

The pugs are unlikely to pick anyone who ever says "whom" or whose shirt-tails are tucked in... let alone a Mormon!

But I am not comfortable basing much on the expectation that ones opponent will commit suicide.

In any event, I am sure the people in the WH know better than to pay any mind to the polls, which we will see more and more of, showing Palin losing to Obama by big margins.

1. Palin will get creamed by almost anyone.
Of the Repub choices we know about I still think Huckabee has the best chance of attracting people. I personally think he's crazier than a box of frogs, but he comes across as sane to some and, unlike Romney, truly Repub (thinking in Repub terms here...Romney qualifies to me, but to the Repub hardcore not so much).

4. You're probably right. Huckabee is similar to McDonnell (Gov Elect of VA)
Both have crazy nonsensical positions but both come off as charming and competent. Both would/will be disasters.

5. That's exactly how he is.
He says the stupidest things but he does so in a folksy manner that we fall for all too often in this country.

And don't even get me going on McDonnell. :)

A sense of awestruck wonder..... I am absolutely awestruck, stunned and wonder what the f**k stupid thing she wil come up with next.. sincerely hope the dipshit wing of the republican party pairs her with blech in 2012.. perfect pair and perfect symbolism...

7. I'm pretty sure most Republicans don't expect huge turnouts from Young People
and African American voters next time. So they likely think Obama can be beaten next time.

Unless there are huge improvements in the economy and the wars. Can't say I disagree.

11. The best things in life are free....
.... and you can get them from Mike Huckabee, she has money ..... yes she does, she has money. ;)

Sarah has the highest earning potential of all the GOP contenders thus far. That means a lot.
