1. Except for Feingold, good news. |

Hopefully, people in WI will wake up and see what a good senator they will lose.

2. I am starting to think Manchin may pull it out in WV. He is hitting |
|
Raese for wanting to eliminate the minimum wage and also for opposing the Bush tariffs on illegally dumped Chinese steel. WV has lost thousands of steel jobs.

from Philly, no less. Bad move on Raese's part. He's from Florida. Why the hell is he running for WVa governor? How does he get away with this shit?!?!??!

he claims WV? He won't release any tax records either.

The super-rich Ron Johnson is basically buying the seat, but it's still just hard to believe that suddenly the people aren't happy with Feingold. What on earth did he do during this term that put people off of him? Dunno.

19. Very simple...what has happened in WI |
|
Wisconsin was a manufacturing powerhouse at one time. We bought several advanced machine tools from outfits located in Wisconsin several years back.
Currently the government jobs in Wisconsin exceed the manufacturing jobs! Loss of manufacturing jobs had made people frustrated and angry and they are taking it out on incumbents such as senator Feingold.

23. The jobs are not outsourced by choice |
|
they are outsourced because of cost of manufacturing in USA.
However you must also realize that the real outsourcers are you and me when we buy things made outside of USA. When I buy a Toyota, I helped outsource engineering jobs to Japan. And the profits also got outsourced to Japan.

Its because of PROFIT, nothing else. Bloodsucking corporations are simply screwing over the American people and yet the people want to vote teabag assholes in. But Americans are stupid fucking idiots.

30. Excuse me, cost of manufacturing and profits go hand in hand |
|
I stated manufacturing is being outsourced because of high cost in US.
High cost = Less profits.
Do you think corporations exist for philanthropy, social justice, fairness etc? NO! They exist to satisfy the owners which are the stock holders. And not one of them can stay in business without profits.
And you call it bullshit? LOL

|
This man is a tool. He has no idea what he's doing. Mr. Feingold has been our dedicated servant for many years, but still maintains his 'outsider' presence.
If he loses I'm going to be very disappointed in my fellow citizens.

7. Feingold: I can't help but wonder -- |
|
I'm one of those folks that believes polls are being manipulated because there are plans to steal some elections. Maybe Russ Feingold is just too effective for him to be tolerated any longer?
Or, is there any concrete reason why Wisconsonites would have turned on him?

8. Another DUer posted elsewhere that WI's demographics are changing. |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-13-10 04:38 PM by Qutzupalotl
He/she mentioned suburbanites moving in and tending heavily Republican/Limbaughite, IIRC.
I will say that Johnson debated strongly. I disagreed with his positions -- extremely -- but he sounded confident and put Russ on the defensive. I think what's needed is to expose Johnson's backers -- is he getting money from the Chamber or other shadowy groups?
On edit: looking at the CNN breakdown, it shows the 18-34 age group as "N/A"--meaning they weren't polled? Or it wasn't an option in the questionnaire? Neither of those explanations make sense, can anyone else weigh in? If the young crowd wasn't polled, which happens a lot now with cell phone prevalence, then what's needed is to energize the college-age and young vote.

34. The Fox Valley clearly went from "Red" to "Purple" in |
|
2004 and went Blue in 2008. I find it hard to believe that there's been a major demographic shift in just two years. I'm very suspicious of this race and the polls, although hundreds of thousands of dollars in ads have run for Johnson. So the foreign money is pouring in here against Feingold.
BTW: I teach students 18 and older and I have not found one that is not a supporter of Russ (caveat: some may not want to say, others are disengaged).

You know KKKarl's got an empty spot on the top shelf of his trophy case with Feingold's name on it, right next to Wellstone's.
I don't trust the GOP-owned M$M for one bloody moment.
In fact there are already suspicious vote-caging incidents going on in Wisconsin.

29. Russ will win in a squeaker |
|
He's surging and his internal polls have him within the MOE with likely voters and a lot of polls out there showing him behind are small pools of people (less than 1000) and are only using land lines for polling assessments.
It's a tough 21 days to go.

I am reassured by Murray's lead in the Elway, CNN and Washington Poll. Murray has consistently led in all live polling. It is only in the IRV polling that she has sometimes slipped a few points below Rossi. I predict a 7 point Murray victory.
