Dems are SURGING all over the map. Disregard the corporate media. Just campaign and VOTE.
The Dems will KEEP the Senate, and our candidates are doing better ALL the time.
Reid will win. Coons will win. Boxer will win. Sestak is now ahead in some polls. Even the Dem in Alaska is competetive. The House will be close, but our candidates are tightening all over the map, and the DCCC has a great ground game planned with 41 million bucks to spend in the endgame on persuasion and GOTV. We have a good shot at keeping the House. These are CLOSE races that we can tip in our favor with HARD and SMART work. Dems are surging in Governors races too. Sink will win. Brown will win. The Dems in MA, NH, CT, and RI are all doing well.
We are scoring points on calling out the TeaRadicals AND calling out the horrid corporate shadow group donations. We just need to stay on offense, stay engaged, and we'll be alright in this tough climate. And please do your part. Phonebank, canvass, donate, rally, put out a sign, put on a bumper sticker, whatever you can do. Any little bit helps.

1. And the surge is not being accurately measured because polls...
...leave out voters who use only cell phones.

26. Not true
I work for Gallup, and the G1k survey and GPSS, both tracking polls with the Presidential Approval Ratings and Congressional and likely voter questions DO call cell phones. Now, the problem is not getting my head bit off when I actually reach someone on their cellphone. So, if you get a call from Gallup, and you are on your cell phone, TAKE THE POLL. Lol, sorry, I read that article you are probably citing the other day and it was a load of BS. Polling companies have their ways to skirt all sorts of Federal laws.

and they have many friends, and I've asked repeatedly about pollsters and none of them has, or knows anyone who has, been polled via cellphone.

43. I run into alot of folks that say the same thing
Be it they own a landline or a cellphone. I've been on this planet for 28 years and have never received a call, but the truth is we do call cell phones, in fact, I'm ringing one right this second. I can tell you Gallup has been doing it for only about a year now, because the law was funky, but they eventually found a way around it. Hopefully the law can be adjusted to allow more room for us and other companies to get those types of respondents. I think what people need to be more concerned about is the way certain regions are underrepresented or over-represented. I.E. There are times I notice we call a lot of predominantly Red states.

3. Sadly, that will not include Florida. I was just reading TPM and it
seems the Rs are pulling their money for Rubio out and putting it somewhere else since he's so far ahead. Sad.

I'm glad the NRSC is pulling money out. Less Rubio commercials then :)

He is so slick and demeaning to everyone.

Also, we are looking really good with Governor, CFO, & Attorney General. Vote for Gelber for Attorney General, we don't need Pam B(l)ondi another Sarah Palin wannabe

Scott is +1 in latest poll,Rubio is a lock and Allen West has a real shot to knock off Klein. If Sink can't pull this out we become tea party central. No wonder I have this migraine.

20. Remember Rubio is replacing another republican so it has little impact on us
I mean it's sad that it is Rubio but it's not like we're losing a seat there.

I'd like to keep the number of seats loss to around 5 tops. I know there are 3 that are goners but the rest are starting to look good. Plus we have a chance in states like Kentucky and Alaska too.

5. Add Mark Dayton of Minnesota to that list of new governors.
Dayton is a compassionate and principled man, and he is a genuine liberal - not a DINO. He's maintaining a significant lead over his Republican opponent, who is in ideological lockstep with Michele Bachmann.

This in a state that has suffered under Tim Pawlenty for eight years!

6. And donate to Democratic groups
Edited on Thu Oct-14-10 09:30 PM by oswaldactedalone
Another thing you might consider is forwarding fundraising emails to your Democratic friends. I have a co-worker who is a very strong Democrat. We also call her "the social director of the city" as she knows hundreds of people in our area. She has an email address book the size of Canada, and is also a homecoming coordinator for her alma mater, a large state university. I've been forwarding her fundraising emails and others that contain interesting news for Democrats, damaging articles on publicans, etc. and she forwards them on with a note to consider forwarding them on as well. We've tried to create a sort of "mini-viral" network to inform Democrats.

We've been working extra hours so haven't been able to do much GOTV in the community, so we feel it's our way of helping mobilize Democrats. If you think it's worthwhile, you might try to do something similar.

7. I agree that Barbara Boxer is going to win that race.
Which would be a fine thing on her merits alone but also because it will have demonstrated that in a statewide high profile race, a job-butchering hack like Carly Fiorina will be rejected by a majority of voting adults.

whipping out check after check and funding really lousy candidates.

I'd love to see Brown and Boxer carry those races by good margins, even in the face of their opponents spending huge dollars.

14. Race for Stupak's seat is now too close to call.
"Benishek, a political newcomer and surgeon from Crystal Falls, leads McDowell, a state representative and hay farmer from Rudyard, by 3 points – 42% to 39% --"

http://www.freep.com/article/20101013/NEWS15/101013029/0/ent

This is within the margin of error and a great improvement over earlier polls which showed Benishek with a sizeable lead well outside the margin of error.

Connie Saltonstall was in the race early on but she dropped out when she couldn't get any endorsements from pro-choice Dems in this district. The leading pro-choice Dems here endorsed McDowell.

15. Actually the dems in NH need help

The U.S. Chamber and other outside groups are pouring millions into NH repug
races and it's working. I'm shifting over to help Paul Hodes in the senate race.
NH-02 is very close. We may pull that one off. I don't think Carol Shea-Porter
is doing well against creepy Guinta. If the news would cover his negatives more,
we could eke that one out, but that's not happening right now.

38. Plenty. MANY Senate and Gov candidates doing better, and House races tightening or Dems gaining in
MANY places. MANY, again, MANY of these races are CLOSE and getting CLOSER. Some Dems who were favored but close are pulling ahead. It will be a matter of working like hell and staying on offense.
If we do that, we should keep both chambers of Congress and do better than expected in Gov races.
In some areas, Dems are doing BETTER than RePUKES in early balloting as well.
