78. There was a similar situation after the third debate between Obama and McCain here on DU.

I remember it very well. DU pretty much painted this picture that McCain walked all over Obama. McCain was pushy. McCain was determined to tie Obama to Ayers - but it didn't work.

When the dust settled, the media agreed it wasn't a game changer. The flash polls after the debate suggested Obama had won by a large margin.

Sometimes we build up expectations in our head for our guys that we can't really look at it from a typical voter's POV.

I thought Obama clearly won over McCain at every debate, hands down. Not that McCain didn't make some points. I don't recall even thinking they were close or that it was tied.
