So, none of the three candidates running for MA governors want to be like a Democrat.

I love Deval Patrick, but these answers are typical of what is happening among Democrats these days: a run away attitude.

There are two Dems in this race: Cahill, who is a conservative Dem running as an independent, and Governor Patrick. They give GHW Bush and Bloomberg (Bloomberg? Really?) as their model. No living Democrat they they want to look like. And this is Massachusetts. :grr: Dont be surprised if Blue dog democrats run away from the Democratic label.

No surprise for Baker, though I am surprised he did not say Scott Brown. He has been trying to emulate his campaign for months, now.

Cahill said he would most like to be President George H. W. Bush because he “brought honor to the presidency” and “did well” in handling the Gulf War.

Although the governor protested that “I’m not a politician,” he said he would most like to be Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg of New York.

Patrick, a Democrat, praised Bloomberg for, among other things, supporting the proposed Islamic cultural center near Ground Zero. Patrick said the mayor, in a recent speech, had made “a very clear statement about the importance of standing by our values around religious tolerance.”

Baker said he would most like to be Rudy Giuliani, the former New York mayor and unsuccessful 2008 GOP presidential candidate. He praised Giuliani for showing the “imagination, sheer force of will, and determination” to govern New York City. “He didn’t accept the status quo,” Baker said.

2. heh, Bloomberg has done some good things.

But has failed in my observations, and his actions seem to show he is aware of corrections that are required, and yet choose not to act on them.

His excessive wealth holds him to a much higher standard.
