Chris Hayes made a great point. If Barack Obama is in the pocket of corporations, why are
corporations funneling 100s of millions of dollars to Repugnicans?

6. Think of how many changes he has passed that effect corporations and are things they were against.
I can see some merit in the argument that Obama probably should have been even harder on some of these industries than he has been, that doesn't change the fact that he is the first President in a really long time to be on their ass as much as he has.

7. Because he promises the moon and they promise the moon and stars.
When he tries to promise them the moon and stars and the base complain, the locksteps yell "President Pali, and then the base accepts the offer of the moon and stars. Then the Republicans throw in the sun, and Obama tries to thrown in the sun, but the base complains, rinse repeat.

If it wasn't for the progressives, they'd be able to take the universe in one fell swoop. But with Obama, they have to wait until he cajoles us into submission.

Barbara Boxer:

Independent expenditures in opposition: $405,275.20
Electioneering communications: $3,245,203.00 *

Carly Fiorina:
Independent expenditures in support: $553,823.54
Independent expenditures in opposition: $123,441.47

U.S. Chamber about to drop another $1.25 million in TV ads against Barbara Boxer?

They don't care about us...or Obama or anything but getting GOVERNMENT OUT OF THEIR BUSINESS! They loved Obama's continuing Bush II's BAILOUTS. They LOVE that Obama's Attorney General CANNOT PROSECUTE their CRIMINALITY.

40. Because they want EVEN MORE
Sure, he's better than the monarchists who control the Republican Party, but that's not our only choice. It's not an all or nothing world, and he can be pressured. He should be. The idea that he's the best we can get is absurd; he can be worked on to be less of an enabler. The REAL problem is that many of us feel that he's not really of a mind to; whether misguided or whatever, what he'd do in a perfect world is a very open question.

We have been constantly hammered and guilted into giving him the benefit of the doubt, and his actions before his primary campaign and his actions since simply don't sustain the image of him being anything more than an ultramoderate and corporate fellow-traveler. Presumably, if this observation is correct, it's from a belief--that many of us don't share--that the kind of corporate aristocracy we have in this country is somehow necessary.

The corporate powers are thrilled to have someone who's not a leftist threat who can be painted as such so they can drag the country even farther to the right.

48. not that great a point
If you have two employees, and you can pay one $8.50 an hour, and then get a 10% kickback under the table cause he's undocumented and has no options, or the other you can pay $0.15 an hour, which would your average corporate structure choose?

Either one is preferred to a Union job with benefits. But one is still preferable to the other.

and he is working withing the limits set by them through the 'publican party. We need to take them down further than they already are - another GOP administration in the next few years will be a disaster for the US.
