O.K., I'm Gonna Take A Chance Here |
|
This might be a huge stretch, but there seems to be real turmoil with this health care legislation, turmoil in Washington D.C., turmoil on DU, and turmoil all around. A vigorous debate is good though. As I read the threads here, it's obvious something's up. I don't know what that is exactly, but I don't think it's all bad. A vigorous debate is going on, and that's a good thing. O.K., I'll get right to the point. I wonder if some Dems (progresive liberals and DINOs) are positioning themselves to run in a Democratic primary (congressional/senatorial/ and ys, presidential). It looks like the surge in Afghanistan and this health care legislation, and who knows what else, could be a pre-declaration of candidacy kind of thing. Then again, I may be wrong, and frequently that is the case. Just wondering what you think.

the economy will be much much better, Iraq war will be behind us and HCR starts moving - Unless there's a real disaster in Afghanistan or some unexpected catastrophe - Obama will be re-elect in landslide.

There are people, LOTS of people, on both sides of the ailse, that never wanted Obama to be president. There are those that are never satisfied. There are plenty who will never understand political realities. They are those who will never compromise. There are those who never employ introspection nor circumspection. There are those for whom you cannot fix stupid. And they are not all just teabaggers. People on the extreme wings of the political process only think in absolute terms. The middle is the soft gray mushy area, and those who are harsh black and white only thinkers hate the middle as much as they hate the other extreme.
Obama is in no mans land. I think he is starting to realize he will be a one term POTUS.
