I'm Really Depressed About This Years Election
I for a while now thought it was gonna be a damn close election but thought we'd keep the Senate and just barely cling to the House. Now it appears all hope is lost. Don't get me wrong, I hope I am wrong and I plan to vote but still. Seems like nowadays they are much better at predicting election results. In 2008 we all knew Obama had a safe lead weeks before the election. I just am amazed at how the Tea Party has so much power. I mean, look at them. They are all idiots. I do not plan on watching the TV at all on Election day.Flame away if you like. I hope we actually do win and this post could be bumped on the day after election and we can all laugh at it.Not trying to bring anyone down. Just wishing there was more I could do.

1. Go make calls at your local Democratic headquarters.
Things are not as grim as the TV is trying to tell you they are. They have an agenda

Why would you think that group has power?

Who are you listening to?

7. Hope so
I hope you are right. Seems like a week ago they announced that the Democrats were bouncing back and showing some strong leads. Now,they are saying the opposite. Is it possible for these numbers to turn around? John Bohner as speaker sends chills down my spine!

5. If you're so concerned
WTF are you doing here trying to spread the pessimism like some web-based version of Typhoid Mary? 'Wishing there was more' you could do? Get out & campaign - even if it's an hour or two a week! One thing's for sure: crying in your beer on an internet is just about the WORST fucking thing you could do, as plenty of people are susceptible to free-floating anxiety and are affected by your words.

8. Not

Not trying to be negative. I am however trying to be realistic. Week ago they said we were showing leads in many states they thought would go Republican. Damn, if this place ONLY REQUIRES positive thoughts and a posters genuine concern is no longer welcome, then DU has really gone down hill.I've read 2 stories over the past hour about how the Dems are in trouble.

Oh, and by the way Huffington post has not become Drudge light,IMO.

12. WTF?
Damn. So if the news polls showed a week ago Democrats were making gains then we should pay attention. If it is not in our favor, then it's the corporate media? You can't have it both ways. I've spoken to friends and co workers and I think I've persuaded some. I even started a thread about how I could help weeks ago.

So spare me this sarcasm. I'm concerned and that is all.

22. Please forgive me
I realize it's no excuse, but my car got totaled yesterday when an SUV crossed the centerline & hit me head-on at ~30 MPH, and I was still going at least 20 MPH even after I slammed on the brakes. I'm banged-up all to shit & probably high on oxy to boot. I have a hairline fracture in my sternum that hurts like a witch & my ankle is severely sprained. Like I said, no excuse, and life is too short for pulling shit like I did.

28. To avoid getting hurt, I drive a Dodge Ram Conversion Van
I feel sorry for the Honda type car who will cross the center-line
and hit my Van. Since I drive less than 100 miles a week, gas is no biggy at 16 mpg.

Maybe I can send them a link to Huffington Post as well. I am amazed at how any hint of critic sm is labeled as being dis loyal to the party.

25. On the upside the economy certainly will not rebound with the GOP in power. So they'll get booted
out in 2012 and Obama will win. Does that help? I guess not because the economy will still be bad.

As a matter of fact, that's a tried and true tactic. We need to stay positive and get out and vote.

30. Hang in there
Everyone has a bad day and the media bombardment doesn't help. Get out today and do something fun. Recharge the batteries. No tv news for a couple of days. You'll be surprised how much better you'll feel and ready for the final sprint.

You say you want us to win but you gave the win to the freaks on the right. <---That says to me you don't think we'll win or have any hope. Well I think we'll do so much better than people accepted it's crazy.

32. A lot can change between now and election day...
Polls will bounce around, the "enthusiasm gap" will continue to close, Democrats are pouring money into advertising now where for a few months it was mostly Republicans on the air.

The thing is, we are so far ahead of the Republicans in the House and Senate that even a 50/50 split of folks voting Dem/Rep this cycle will result in significant gains for the GOP. That really doesn't mean some majority suddenly likes Tea Party freaks - it just means there is no way for Democrats to retain these lopsided majorities forever.

Also, in these mid term cycles, the party out of power is always fired up to vote.

All we have to do to score a major victory is minimize our losses and hold the House and Senate. We most certainly have a shot at achieving this.
